Introduction

I am Tame Ramya, an accomplished Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Saint Claret College, Ziro, and a Doctoral Scholar at Rajiv Gandhi University in Arunachal Pradesh. With a robust academic foundation, including M.Phil., M.A., PGDCA, and qualifying for both UGC-NET and JRF, I bring a keen focus to the fields of Ethnographic Studies, Tribal Development and Interventions, and Religious Studies. My professional journey, starting with service as an STI Counsellor and leading to my current academic post since 2015, demonstrates a deep commitment to both research and community engagement within Northeast India.

My primary academic interest lies in exploring the diverse cultural and socio-economic landscapes of indigenous communities, particularly those in Arunachal Pradesh. This is reflected in my extensive publication record, which includes numerous papers and chapters in books and international journals, covering topics from the ethnography of the lesser-known Bangru tribe to issues like domestic violence, resource utilization, and the impact of schemes like MGNREGA on tribal livelihoods. I have actively contributed to scholarly discourse by presenting at over thirty national and international seminars and serving on editorial and management boards.

Beyond teaching and publishing, I've taken on coordinating and leadership roles, such as serving as the Coordinator of the Research Promotion Cell at Saint Claret College and being a Member of the Board of Under-Graduate Studies (BUGS) in Anthropology at Rajiv Gandhi University. I am a dedicated life member of prominent academic bodies like the Indian Anthropological Society and INCAA. My goal is to leverage my research and teaching experience to contribute meaningfully to the understanding and sustainable development of tribal cultures and society in the region.
