Dr. Paramananda Naik, at present working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar from 20th December-2021. He has completed M.A., M.Phil and Ph.D degree from Department of Anthropology, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. He has submitted his Doctoral thesis on “Bio-Cultural Perspectives of Health and Health Seeking Behaviour among Kandha Tribe of Odisha” to Utkal University with support from UGC- Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF), Govt. of India. He teaches both P.G. and M.Phil students on different papers like, theories in social-cultural anthropology, anthropology of gender and Indian society and issues of development. He has research experience on current issues like, health and livelihood in prestigious research organisation. Prior to this, he was engaged as Field Investigator (Supervisor) in the project titled “End line Survey of Malaria Project review in 10 District of Odisha” at Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Bhubaneswar for one month. He was served in the same institution as a Research Assistant in the project titled “Improving Health Status of Under Five Children in Rayagada District of Odisha” from 25th June-2015 to 30th June-2016. He was working as a Research Assistant in the project titled “Impact Assessment of the Development Interventions on the Socio-Economic Conditions and Culture of the Major Tribal Communities in 4 OMBADC Districts and Explore their Felt Needs for Holistic Development” from 22nd March-2021 to 15th December-2021, at Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Research and Training Institute (SCSTRTI), Bhubaneswar. He has published 12 research articles in different journals and edited books. He has research interest on health culture, gender development, policy studies, ethnic identity and tribal studies. He is a life member in different Anthropological organisations.
