Dr.
Neeraj Pandey is a plant physiologist and
microbiologist whose research focuses on cyanobacterial biotechnology, algal
physiology, environmental stress biology, biofertilizers, and sustainable
agricultural technologies. He earned his Ph.D. in Botany from the University of
Allahabad, India, where his doctoral research investigated the physiological
and biochemical responses of cyanobacteria to copper and copper nanoparticles,
providing insights into nanoparticle–microbe interactions and oxidative stress
responses.
Dr.
Pandey is currently serving as Assistant Manager (Quality and Production)
at Agrella CropSciences Private Limited, Haryana. Prior to this, he worked as a
Research Fellow at the Division of Microbiology, ICAR–Indian Agricultural
Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi, on Department of Science and
Technology (DST)-funded projects involving Spirulina biomass
cultivation, value-added product development, and microbial formulation
technologies for sustainable agriculture.
His
research interests encompass cyanobacterial physiology, algal biotechnology,
nanotechnology in agriculture, microbial biofertilizers, environmental
toxicology, and the commercial utilization of microalgal biomass. He has
authored several peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters published by
leading international publishers, including Springer, Elsevier, Academic Press,
and IGI Global, covering topics such as cyanobacterial stress physiology,
nanotechnology, environmental pollution, heavy metal toxicity, and sustainable
crop production.
In
addition to his research contributions, Dr. Pandey has actively organized and
delivered professional training programmes on Spirulina cultivation,
downstream processing, biofertilizer technologies, and compost management
through ICAR-IARI, contributing to technology dissemination and capacity
building among researchers, entrepreneurs, and farmers. His expertise includes
microbial culturing, cyanobacterial biotechnology, physicochemical analysis,
molecular techniques, analytical instrumentation, and statistical data
analysis.
Dr.
Pandey's current research and industrial interests are directed toward
developing innovative microbial and algal technologies for sustainable
agriculture, climate-resilient crop production, bio-based fertilizers, and
value-added bioproducts that bridge fundamental research with industrial
applications.
