Dr. M.R. Gangadhar serves as a Professor and the Chairman of the Board of Studies in Anthropology at the Department of Studies in Anthropology, University of Mysore. With a professional journey at this institution beginning in 1997, his career spans over two decades, evolving from Lecturer to his current senior role. His primary responsibilities include comprehensive postgraduate teaching, high-level research, and mentoring students through dissertation and Ph.D. work. This leadership position in the Board of Studies confirms his significant role in shaping the curriculum and academic direction of anthropological studies at the university.

His works cover diverse areas, including human ecology, dermatoglyphics, congenital anomalies, and tribal health. He has also authored or co-authored three books, solidifying his expertise. Dr. Gangadhar's recognition extends globally, evidenced by his invitation to present papers and chair sessions at the IUAES World Congresses in Kunming, China (2009) and Manchester, UK (2013).
