Dr. Vinita Gupta is a highly accomplished ophthalmologist with an extensive background in clinical practice, academic research, and medical education, specializing in Pediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismology, and Glaucoma.Currently serving as a Consultant (Additional Professor) in Ophthalmology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh, she was instrumental in setting up and running the Ophthalmology Department and implementing the B.Optometry Course.Her distinguished qualifications include MBBS, MS (Ophthalmology), and multiple international fellowships and memberships: FRCOphth (London), FRCS (Glasgow), and MRCOphth (London).Dr. Gupta possesses significant surgical expertise, having performed over 3,000 phacoemulsifications, and is proficient in complex procedures related to her subspecialties, including pediatric cataract, squint, glaucoma, and oculoplastics surgery.Academically, she is widely published with over 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals, including 68 citations for her thesis work. She is also actively involved in research as a Principal and Co-Principal Investigator on multiple extramural and intramural projects.She holds prestigious roles as an Examiner for FRCS (Glasgow) and FRCOphth (London), demonstrating her standing in international ophthalmology. She is a dedicated educator, guiding post-graduate residents and serving as an invited speaker and instructor at numerous national and international conferences.
