I am Dr. Sairam Patro, a dedicated legal academician and researcher with a robust background spanning over a decade in teaching and scholarly pursuits within the field of Law. My core expertise lies in Environmental Law and the rapidly evolving domain of Cyber Law and Digital Evidence, which was the focus of my Ph.D. (Law) awarded by Berhampur University in 2012. Furthermore, my commitment to diverse learning is reflected in my extensive academic qualifications, including an LL.B., a B.Com. (Hons.), and an MBA in Human Resource Management. Currently, I am actively engaged as a Lecturer in Law, holding positions at both Ganjam Law College and previously as a Member Faculty at Lingaraj Law College, where I contribute to syllabus development, admissions, and examination processes. My professional life is marked by a deep commitment to legal education and academic administration within the university system.
My research contributions are substantial, featuring more than 20 research articles published in peer-reviewed, UGC-Care listed national and international journals, alongside chapters in edited books. A key highlight of my scholarly output is my authored book, "Cyber Law and Digital Evidence" (published in 2014 and 2016), which serves as a significant resource in this specialized area. This work directly stems from my doctoral research, critically analyzing digital evidence under the Indian Criminal Justice System. Beyond publication, I contribute to the academic community as a Reviewer for esteemed publications like the Indian Journal of Criminology (IJC). My continuous engagement in numerous National, UGC-Sponsored, and International seminars, webinars, and workshops ensures my knowledge base remains current with global legal developments and academic trends.
In addition to my teaching and research roles, I possess proven experience in institutional development and student engagement. I have served as an active Member on key committees, including the Draft Syllabus Committee (LL.B. CBCS), the Draft Prospectus Committee, and the Admission Committee, demonstrating my capacity for administrative leadership. I am also responsible for organizing crucial co-curricular activities such as Moot Court Competitions, and managing college functions and inventories. Outside of my professional academic life, I maintain an active role in community service as the Organising Secretary for the Lion’s International Club, Berhampur, where I coordinate social initiatives like tree plantation, blood donation camps, and health camps. I am fluent in Odia, English, Telugu, and Hindi, enabling effective communication across diverse settings.
