Introduction


Dr. R K Chittoria is a highly accomplished and multi-certified academic Plastic Surgeon, currently serving as an Additional Professor and Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at JIPMER, Pondicherry, where he also oversees the Telehealth/Telemedicine Programme.With over 18 years of post-M.S. experience, he holds an extensive list of qualifications, including MBBS, MS, MCh (Plastic Surgery), DNB, and a PhD (Plastic Surgery), along with multiple postgraduate diplomas in medicolegal systems, hospital administration, telemedicine, and clinical research.Dr. Chittoria's key areas of specialization are Laser Cosmetic Surgery, Endoscopic CosmeticSurgery, and Wound Healing & Management. He has held prominent faculty and leadership roles at top institutions like Grant Medical College, PGIMER Chandigarh, and SVIMS University, where he notably founded and headed the Departments of Plastic Surgery and Telemedicine, and served as both the Registrar and Controller of Examinations. A respected figure in his field, he is an author of five books, a former President and Founder Editor-in-Chief of the Society for Wound Care & Research (SWCR), and frequently acts as an MCI Inspector and MCh/PhD Examiner.
