Introduction


Dr. Anku Goel is a microbiology academician and clinician with postgraduate qualifications in Microbiology, including MD (Microbiology), DNB (Microbiology), and MNAMS, along with specialized training in Infectious Diseases and Infection Control. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Microbiology at Gian Sagar Medical College & Hospital, Rajpura, Punjab, with academic and clinical interests encompassing Clinical Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, Antimicrobial Resistance, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Infection Prevention and Control, and Laboratory Diagnostics.  Her professional experience includes postgraduate training and clinical microbiology laboratory exposure at Government Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh, and PGIMER, Chandigarh, with experience across bacteriology, virology, parasitology, mycology, tuberculosis diagnostics, blood culture, bacterial serology, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and hospital surveillance. These experiences have contributed to her interest in clinically relevant microbiological research and evidence-based laboratory practices. Dr. Goel has contributed to peer-reviewed scientific literature in areas including antimicrobial resistance, bacterial infections, antimicrobial susceptibility, enteric fever, serology, and infectious diseases. Her scholarly work includes original research, review articles, case reports, and a book chapter published by Springer. She has also presented original research at national and international scientific forums, including the Asia-Pacific Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infection and the International Infection Control Conference in Hong Kong.  Her academic interests also include medical education, competency-based teaching, research methodology, systematic review and meta-analysis, laboratory quality, and infection prevention. She has undertaken professional training in biomedical research, medical education, antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention and control, method verification and validation, Good Clinical Practice, and AI applications in healthcare.  With a combination of clinical microbiology expertise, teaching experience, research involvement, and scientific communication, Dr. Goel aims to contribute to scholarly peer review and academic discourse in microbiology and related disciplines.
