Introduction


The author is working at present as a Joint Director in the Office of the Registrar General and Census commissioner, India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India, New Delhi. He has diverse work experiences, worked in Anthropological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture, National commission for scheduled Tribes (NCST), Ministry of Tribal Affairs, held a post of Regional passport officer (RPO) in Ministry of External Affairs, Govt of India. He has three books and more than a dozen research articles published in reputed journals. Done his Ph.D. in the field of Indigenous knowledge. His area of interest is to study the tribal people, problems, knowledge and culture, Demography etc. He has completed his graduation, post-graduation from Utkal University and Ph.D from Sambalpur university, Odisha.
