I am Dr. G. Balaji, a highly accomplished and dedicated academician and clinical professional in the field of Physiotherapy, bringing over two decades of comprehensive experience in teaching, administration, and specialized patient care. My extensive academic journey recently culminated in the award of a Ph.D. in Physiotherapy in January 2024, complementing my Master’s specialization in Orthopaedic & Traumatology. Currently, I serve as the Principal and Professor at Nargund College of Physiotherapy in Bangalore, a role that encompasses strategic institutional leadership, curriculum development, and guiding the next generation of physiotherapists. My foundation as a hands-on physiotherapist, coupled with nearly two decades in academic and administrative leadership roles—including Vice Principal and Head of the Musculoskeletal Department—allows me to drive institutional excellence while maintaining a strong clinical perspective.
My commitment to advancing the physiotherapy profession is evidenced by my significant contributions to scholarly activities and institutional governance. I have held the influential position of Board of Studies (BOS) Member for the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) from 2018 to 2021 and am a recognized PG Guide, actively shaping educational standards. This academic rigor is underpinned by my published work, including the authored textbook, “SPINAL MANUAL THERAPY MADE EASY,” and numerous scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals. This dedication to both education and innovation has been consistently recognized, earning me multiple prestigious accolades throughout my career, such as the “BEST TEACHER AWARD,” “BEST RESEARCHER AWARD,” and the “DYNAMIC PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR” award.
Beyond my core academic duties, I maintain an active and robust engagement with community service and professional development. As a multilingual professional proficient in six languages, I am uniquely positioned to conduct effective clinical practice and outreach. I have spearheaded extensive social initiatives, including large-scale free medical camps, health awareness rallies, and critical public health drives like the COVID-19 vaccination camp, which benefited thousands. Furthermore, I frequently serve as a Resource Person and invited faculty member for numerous international and national workshops, sharing my specialized expertise in areas like spinal manual therapy. My overarching goal remains to leverage my administrative acumen, clinical specialization, and research passion for the sustained growth and public service contribution of the physiotherapy domain.
