The present study was undertaken to evaluate the influence of supplementation of chelated mineral mixture on growing buffalo calves in the field through front line demonstration. Sixteen buffalo calves were divided into two equal groups viz., Group T1 (Control) and T2 (treatment). Group T1 received roughages and concentrate mixture prepared as per the practice of farm and group T2 received same ration as per group T1 and supplemented with chelated mineral mixture @ 25g/day. The results of the study revealed that on or after 120 days of supplementation in T2 group there was significantly higher (P<0.05) bodyweight gain, DMI, FCE, Body measurements, as compared to control T1 group, while average mean of feeding cost did not differ significantly (P<0.05) in calves of both the groups so the present study was finally concluded that feeding of chelated minerals has beneficial effect on growing calves.

Agriculture is the largest sector of economic activity as well as primary occupation of the majority of the people of India. It is perceived as the principal engine of economic growth and is the largest employer and provider of livelihood whereas 58 percent of the working population of the Nation directly depend on Agriculture. Since agriculture is the main stay of the Indian economy and extension services in agriculture has an indispensable role and it is not limited to just expert assistance in the improvement of production and processing. It streamlines and enables the flow of information and transfer of knowledge and scientific findings to practice. These functions are performed in accordance with the rules and mandates which guide and regulate establishing of the organization, its functioning, goals and fields of operation, ways to execute extension activities by the extension activities by the extension agent, their obligation and rights. Present paper aim is to study the attitude of farmers towards Extension Services Provided by KVKs.

The present study was conducted in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand. The three villages (Jaitpurghosi, Rajpurarani, and Dhanauri) from Kashipur block were selected purposively for this study. Sample of total 120 respondents was selected purposively who were actively engaged in potato farming. Potato is considered one of the most important food crops in the world, and it ranks third in terms of human consumption after rice and wheat. Mainly small farmers are found in Uttarakhand who depend on agriculture to meet the needs of their families. Pre-tested interview schedule and knowledge test were used for data collection. The findings of the present study revealed that majority of the respondents (67.50%) belonged to middle age group, had education high school level (32.50%), had 1-5 acres of land holding (53.40%), were having low annual income (61.60%), potato farming was a primary source of income, had medium experience in potato farming (71.70%), had medium scientific orientation (55%), half of respondents (50.80%) had medium extent of utilization of information sources, 59.20 per cent of the respondents had medium level of extension contact. The respondents needed information regarding insect pest and disease management, application of manure and fertilizer, and selection of variety.
