Background: Intramuscular injection is the injection of a substance directly into a muscle. It is a common practice in modern medicine. In India, approximately 6 billion injections are given every year. Painful injection incites severe fear, which may lead a patient to delay seeking medical help. Nurses have ethical and legal obligations to mitigate injection-related pain and the nurses' use of effective pain management not only provides physical comfort to the patients, but also improves the patients' experience. Objective: To assess the intensity of pain after Helfer skin tapping technique among patients receiving intramuscular injection. To assess the intensity of pain after direct digital pressure among patients receiving intramuscular injection. To compare between the intensity of pain after Helfer skin tapping technique and direct digital pressure among patients receiving intramuscular injection. To associate the intensity of pain with selected demographic variables. Methodology: In the present study, quantitative approach is used. Research design was true experimental post test only design. Probability simple random sampling technique using lottery method was used. Sample size was 60 adult patients [(30 in Helfer skin tapping technique (Group I) and 30 in Direct digital pressure (Group II)]. Result: Analysis reveals that in Group I mean score is 2.80 and in Group II mean score is 4.30. Unpaired ‘t’ test was used. Calculated ‘t’ value is 6.739 which is higher than tabulated ‘t’ value at 5% level of significance. Hence the research hypothesis H1 is accepted and null hypothesis H0 is rejected. Conclusion: The study concludes that there is a significant difference between mean pain score of patients who receive Helfer skin tapping technique (Group I) and those who receive Direct digital pressure (Group II). Hence based on the above cited findings it was concluded that Helfer skin tapping technique (Group I) is more effective than Direct digital pressure (Group II) for reducing intensity of pain among patients receiving intramuscular injection. Also, in both groups there is significant association of intensity of pain with Body Mass Index.

Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is a chronic autoimmune blistering disorders characterized by painful blister formation of the skin and mucous membranes. Although the prevalence of pemphigus vulgaris in children is unknown [1,2]. Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) is a potentially life-threatening skin disorder characterized by widespread erythema, necrosis, and bullous detachment of the epidermis and mucous membranes, leads to sepsis and/or death [3]. It’s a report of a case with Pemphigus vulgaris with Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis. This study describes about a 12-year old male child presented with widespread erosions all over the body to the department of dermatology. At presentation child had multiple erosions over face, neck, trunk, axilla, lower limb, involving almost 30% of the body surface area with oral and genitalia mucosa ulceration. General and systemic examination was performed. All routine blood investigations were done. Then child was underwent pus culture/sensitivity test, based on the findings the child was treated with antibiotics and oral steroids.

Screen time is the total amount of time that we spent using a devices like a smartphone, computer, television, tablet, or playing video or hand-held computer games. Screen time can be interactive, noninteractive, educational, or recreational also [1]. Children’s are exposed to inaccurate, inappropriate, or unsafe content and contacts from the media. Many research experts have suggested that excessive screen time is harmful and can affect a child's health and wellbeing potentially leading to sedentary behaviors, sleep disturbances, poor academic performances, less cognitive skill, poor achievements, obesity etc. [2]. The parents and care givers must watch with their children in order to alleviate the possibility of negative media effects. Child development experts recommended that limit the children’s daily screen time because real-life interactions with you and others are better for your child’s growth, wellbeing, learning and development instead of simply putting the children on visual screen. If we limit the Screen time the children started to enjoys lots of healthy, fun activities like physical play, reading, creative play like drawing, playing outdoor games and social time with family and friends [1]. The researcher conducted literatures search on ‘’screen time and its impacts on children’s health and wellbeing’’ and the findings are presented as narrative review. Databases web search were used in this search strategy included online, PubMed, Medscape, Medline, National and international published journal articles.

An exploratory study was carried out to assess the level of satisfaction regarding Basic B.Sc nursing curriculum among graduate nurses in Nagpur city. In this study an exploratory survey design was used. 200 graduate Basic B.Sc nurses graduated in academic year 2015–2018 currently working at private or government institutions. Non-probability convenient sampling technique was used to select the sample. The tool used for the study was 5 point Likert rating scale and checklist. The result were analysed and interpreted using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings of the study was–Overall analysis of % of level of satisfaction among Basic B.Sc nurses reveals that majority (47.50%) of the samples are satisfactory, 30.00% are neutral, 20.50% are very satisfactory, 1.50% are unsatisfactory and 0.50% of the samples are very unsatisfactory. Hence, the current curriculum was satisfactory for the graduate Basic B.Sc nurses.

The study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge regarding first aid among primary schools teachers in selected zillaparishad schools an evaluative approach and a pre-experimental one group pre-test and post-test research design were adopted for study. Data was collected using purposive sampling technique among 60 primary school teacher in selected zilla parishad schools. Self structured questionnaires were used to evaluate the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge regarding first aid among primary schools teacher. Analysis and interpretation were done according to the objective of the study. The data was analyzed by calculating percentage mean and mean percentage, standard deviation, t-test and bar diagram was used to depict the finding. The overall mean knowledge score of pre test and post test which reveals that post test means knowledge score was higher 20.33 with and SD was 1.94 when compared with pre test mean knowledge score value was 12.51 with SD was 2.44. Thus it shows that there is a significance difference between pretest and post knowledge score interpreting effective planned teaching programme regarding first aid among primary school deviation and mean difference values are compared and student’s paired ‘t’ test is applied at 0.05% level of significance. The tabulated value for n=60 i.e 59 degrees of freedom was 2.00. The calculated ‘t’ value are much higher than the tabulated value at 0.05% level of significance for the knowledge score which is statistically accepted at the level of significance. Hence, it is statistically interpreted that the planned teaching programme on knowledge regarding first aid among primary schools teacher was effective.

Background: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD ) occurs when permanent blockages form within the pulmonary system that interfere with the transfer of vital gasses. To be diagnosed with COPD means that some portion of one's bronchi or alveoli have become permanently obstructed, reducing the volume of air that can be handled by the lungs. As this process progresses, the overall efficiency of the gas exchange process is reduced [1]. Objectives: 1. To assess the quality of life of the patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). 2. To find out the association between quality of life of the patients of COPD with selected demographic variables. Material and Methods: In the present study, crosssectional research design was used. The total size of the sample was 60 that comprised the quality of life of the patients of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in selected hospital of Wardha district. Purposive sampling technique was used for current study. The tool used for this study is modified SF-36 questionnaire scale. The total score varied from 0 to 100. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases have a slightly reduced quality of life in the following dimensions: physical functioning, emotional well-being, general health. In areas such as role function/physical, role function/emotional, energetic or fatigue, social functioning, pain, health change, patients rated their quality of life as lower than average (Table 2). Conclusion: Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease have an impaired quality of life on physical function as compared to emotional and general health because of severity and limitations on physical activities.

A Pre-experimental study was conducted with a aim to assess the effectiveness of Nurse led education programme with regard to knowledge on diet therapy among patients with tuberculosis attending TBCD clinic at a selected hospital, Andhra Pradesh; Using Non probability convenient sampling technique, 60 patients with Tuberculosis were selected. The findings reveled that in pre-test, majority 56 (93.33%) of participants had Inadequate knowledge compared to post-test, only 7 (11.66%) Participants had inadequate knowledge on diet therapy. The obtaining ‘t’ value for knowledge (t=7.02, p>0.05) was significant at 0.05 level, indicating that the Nurse led education Programme on Diet Therapy was Effective in terms of the knowledge on diet therapy. Findings revealed that there was no significant association between the knowledge levels of Tuberculosis patients and selected variables like Gender, Education, at p<0.05 level.

Introduction: Low Back Pain (LBP) is one of the occupational musculoskeletal diseases that occurs most commonly in nurses among all health professionals. LBP ranks the second as a reason for work-force loss and health expenses following cancer pain and it is a common occupational health problem that results in serious physical, cognitive, sensory, emotional and developmental obstacles for nurses. The literature review reveals that the frequency of LBP in nurses ranges between 40% and 97.9% and occurs more frequently in nurses when compared with other individuals insociety. There are various physical and psychosocial risk factors that cause LBP in nurses. The practices that require heavy lifting such as transferring and carrying the patients as a part of nursing care are among the main factors that cause LBP in nurses. Preventing LBPs in nurses is important in order for nurses to exercise their fundamental right to work under healthy and safe conditions and to provide better support for the patients. Necessary individual and institutional precautions should be taken in order to prevent LBP in nurses. Aim: To assess effect low back pain in daily activities among staff nurses working in clinical services. Objectives: Assess low back pain and assess the risk status in regard with activites of daily living among nurses working in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh and assess the risk status of nurses with low back pain. Methodology: A cross sectional survey method with a purposive sampling method will be used to collect data among nurses. Conclusion: Study had reported incidence of low back pain were 59.3% staff nurses and only 41% nurses who did not have it. The reason for low back pain may be handling and mobilizing between 1–5 patients. Younger nurses age group between 24–27 years (60%) had the highest low back pain while older nurses aged 32–35 years (8%) had least low back pain. Institutions must take interest in nurses to be allocate their work according to their efficient, skill, specialty training. Nurses to be rotated in caring the patient such as with a scheduled time interval and can assign caring of patient according to full dependent, partial dependent and independent patients group.
