A pre experimental one group pre-test post-test study was under taken to assess the effectiveness of IEC package on knowledge regarding prevention of byssinosis among the selected cotton industry workers at Coimbatore. The content validy was obtained from the experts in the field of nursing, community medicine. The sample consisted of 50 cotton industry workers who are working in the weaving and spinning section. The non probability convenice sampling technique was used in this study. A structured questionnaire and IEC package was prepared to assess the knowledge of cotton industry workers. 58.2./. of employees knowledge increased moderately after successful completion of IEC programme.

It remains a fact of life for nurses that we will frequently encounter situations at work that are physically and emotionally demanding. We also know that chronic exposure to stress can sometimes have very real and significant implications for our health and wellbeing. While there are a number of mechanisms already in place to assist nurses, such as occupational health and safety and employee assistance programs, it is also important that every nurse has the awareness and skills to take care of their own mental health needs. One of the most significant risks nurses are exposed to in their work is stress. This article highlights some of the signs and symptoms that indicate when stress might be becoming a problem. It offers some skills and strategies to assist you to overcome some of the pressures associated with nursing work.

The process of toilet training has received surprisingly little attention in the medical and nursing literature studies. The investigator’s aim was to improve the knowledge and practices of mothers so that successful mastery of the child over toilet training can be ensured. The research method adopted for the present study was pre experimental approach. The present study is based on the sample of 60 mothers of toddler (20-35 yrs age) residing in urban areas was selected through simple random sampling technique. With help of structured and pre-tested questionnaire, the data was collected through personal interview method and statistically analyzed in terms of frequency, percentage, paired‘t’ test and Chi Square. The study revealed that the mean knowledge score of respondents significantly improved to 39 percent in post-test over 26.76 percent only in pre-test indicating positive effect of planned teaching on mother of toddlers.

School health is an economical and powerful means of raising health of the community. School can also provide a setting to introduce health information to the children. Health habits formed at this stage will be carried forward to the adult age, old age and even to the next generations. Preventive measures taken during this period of growth may have a beneficial lifelong effect. This study was conducted using a quantitative non-experimental approach using a descriptive design. Purposive sampling was used to select 60 primary schools children using an inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data was collected using demographic variables and observation checklist. 70% primary school children were having good level of health status. The mean score of personal hygiene was (34.2) which shows that there is poor hygienic practices (daily bathing, daily teeth brushing, hair combing, mouth rising after meal and nail trimming) in primary school children. This study concluded that the problems related to personal hygiene and mouth hygiene such as enamel discoloration, dental caries were significantly higher in primary school children. These problems can be eradicated by providing proper health education and guidance to the school children.
