In this study, to assess the effectiveness of planned teaching on knowledge regarding prevention of osteoporosis among post menopausal women, 60 post menopausal women were selected by using convenient sampling technique. The pre test was conducted by using a structured interview questionnaire. Planned teaching was conducted on the same day and seven days later post test was conducted using the same structured interview questionnaire. Most of them had poor knowledge 25 (41.67%) in pre test after planned teaching 38 (63.33%) had very good knowledge and 21 (35%) had excellent knowledge, 1 (1.67%) had good level of knowledge. Paired ‘t’ test was applied to compare pre test and post test mean and SD. Knowledge on prevention of post menopausal osteoporosis was statistically significant (p<0.05). There was a significant association between post test knowledge score with selected demographic variable such as residence (p< 0.05) which was statistically confirmed with F test. This study demonstrated that planned teaching on prevention of osteoporosis is effective in improving the knowledge of post menopausal women.

Hepatitis B is a potentially life-threatening liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus. It is a major global health problem and success in the prevention of this disease with its fatal consequence depends to a large extent on the public level of knowledge and their awareness about it. Therefore, a study was conducted to assess the knowledge on Hepatitis B among among adolescents in selected rural government junior colleges. The setting was selected Rural government junior colleges of Tirupati (Chandragiri). A probability Stratified random sampling was used to select the 100 College students. A structured knowledge questionnaire to assess the knowledge and a checklist to assess knowledge on prevention of Hepatitis B were used. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics.57% adolescent students had moderate knowledge followed by 23% had inadequate and 20% had adequate knowledge. Chi-square test was computed for association of demographic variables with knowledge regarding Hepatitis- B. The findings showed significant association in Hepatitis B knowledge among adolescent students with regard to Gender (c2 =0.001**) at 0.01 level of significance .No significant association was found with other demographic variables. The findings of the study revealed that most of the adolescent students had moderate knowledge regarding Hepatitis B.

The present study has been designed to enhance the knowledge of postmenopausal women about lifestyle modifications. An evaluative research approach and quasi experimental one group pre test post test design was adopted to conduct this study. The study was conducted in selecte drural areas, Tirupati. Stratified probability proportionate sampling method was used to select the sample. Questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge following which structured teaching programme was carried out with the help of flexies prepared by the investigator. The results revealed that there was a significant difference between pre and post test knowledge scores of postmenopausal women on Lifestyle modifications. The pre test mean 13 and the post test mean is 20.8. Paired ‘t’ test values shows that it was found to be invariably significant at p <0.01 level in all areas of knowledge including overall knowledge on Lifestyle modifications. It was found effective in improving the knowledge. A significant association was present between the knowledge and demographic variables such as age with the c2 value 7.04, which is significant at the level of 0.05 and education with the c2 value 30.96, which is significant at the level of 0.001 in pre test, where as in post test knowledge scores and demographic variables such as education with the c2 value of 36.9, which is significant at the level of 0.001 and religion with the c2 value of 3.5, which is significant at 0.005.

The present study was designed to enhance the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on PPIUCD (post-placental intrauterine contraceptive device) among primigravida mothers in selected MCH (Maternal and child health) Centre. An evaluative research design and Quasi-experimental one group pre-test post-test design was adapted to conduct the study, a pre-test questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge, structured teaching programme was conducted with the help of Flexies. The results revealed that there is a significant difference in pre-test and post-test knowledge scores. Pre-test mean score was 15.09, standard deviation was 3.340 and in post test mean was 25.75, and standard deviation was 2.238. paired‘t’ test values shows that it is invariably significant at p<0.01. A significant Association was found between the knowledge on demographic variables such as with the c2 value 4.828, which is significant at the level of 0.05 in pre-test, where as in post-test knowledge scores the demographic variables such as occupation with the c2 value 24.40, which is significant at 0.005 and income with c2 value of 13.81, which is significant at 0.001.

A cross sectional descriptive study was conducted on 150 third trimester primigravida mothers attending MCH centre, Tirupati to assess knowledge on selected aspects of new born care. Structured checklist was administered to the mothers & the results revealed that majority 60.7% had moderate knowledge, 23.3% had inadequate knowledge, and only 16% had adequate knowledge related to General information of newborn .With regard to Maintenance of warmth, 78.7% of primi mothers had moderate knowledge, 11.3 % had adequate knowledge and remaining 10 % had inadequate knowledge. Considering Breast feeding, 74% of primi mothers had moderate knowledge, 17.3 % had adequate knowledge and remaining 8.7% had inadequate knowledge. Pertaining to skin care and baby bath, majority 84% of primi mothers had moderate knowledge, 9.3% had adequate knowledge and only 6.7 % had inadequate knowledge. With regard to care of umbilical card, 57.3% of primi mothers had moderate knowledge, 34% had inadequate knowledge , and remaining 8.7% had adequate knowledge. Pertaining to immunization, 57.3% of primi mothers had moderate knowledge, 34.7% had inadequate knowledge and only 8% had adequate knowledge. Age, Religion,educational status, occupation had significant association with knowledge level of newborn care at (P<0.01), monthly family Income and type of family were not found to have significant association.

A cross sectional descriptive design was adapted for the study, 160 women were selected by using non probability convenient sampling technique at Poola street urban area of Tirupati. The data was collected by using self-administered structured knowledge questionnaire. The results revealed that out of 160 women 80 (50%) had a moderate knowledge level, 43 (26.9%) had inadequate knowledge level, 37 (23%) had adequate knowledge level. Finally, the study was shown that there was a significant association between the domestic waste management knowledge selected demographic variables, like education and occupation at (p<0.01), monthly income and type of drainage system at (P<0.05). The other variables were not found to have significant association with knowledge. Health-workers and local authorities must pay special emphasis to improve awareness on domestic waste management. Further in-depth studies should also be encouraged to look for improved interventions.
