Congenital dengue is rare. The prevalence of this entity is described recently. We hereby present a case report of a neonate who was previously thought to be a heart disease, later found out to be congenital dengue, the patient underwent intensive care and later discharged on improvement. The objective of this case report is to highlight the unusual presentation of congenital dengue in a neonate.

Collodion baby is a rare congenital defect of skin characterized by the presence of parchment like taut membrane which breaks on stretching which results in fissure formation. It is a very rare clinical condition, with a worldwide occurrence of 1: 300,000 births; being an uncommon dermatosis. We present a one day old collodion baby, our experience with this case taught us that careful attention to skin care, judicious use of skin care products, and meticulous attention to asepsis are of paramount importance when caring for an infant with collodion baby syndrome.

Staphylococcal Scalded Skin Syndrome (SSSS) is one of the dermatological emergencies primarily seen in newborns and young children. This is a major exfoliating condition caused by exfoliative toxins of Staphylococcus aureus. We present a 28 days old infant with SSSS admitted with complaints of bilateral purulent conjunctivitis, fever and generalised erythematous exfoliation. He responded to intravenous vancomycin. Baby was discharged after complete resolution of symptoms. This case report highlights the importance of having a high clinical suspicion for SSSS, early diagnosis and treatment to prevent morbidity among young children.

Many innovations have been made in advanced reproductive technologies (ART) over the past several years. Gynaecologist will have to choose between ART and reproductive surgery for a larger number of patients. Compared to IVF, reproductive surgery has the potential to restore the natural procreation of the subfertile couple leading to several conceptions after one successful intervention. The incidence of infertility due to uterine structural abnormalities and endometrial pathology is approximately 5-10%. Even in the era of ART minimal invasive surgery has definite and very important role to restore and to improve fertility outcome. In this review series, we will explore fertility enhancing surgery related to uterine factors.

Background: Breastfeeding offers many potential health and emotional bonding for mother and baby. Studies have shown that breastfed babies are more intelligent, have better academic performance and they become smarter than formula fed babies. Objective: To assess the maternal knowledge, attitude and practice of breast feeding among mothers having children between 0-2 years of age. Materials and methods: A cross sectional questionnaire based study among 200 lactating mothers with children aged between 0-2 years, face to face interview using a predesigned, self-administered, standardized questionnaire regarding knowledge, attitude and practices of breastfeeding was conducted. Data thus obtained was compiled and entered in MS Excel spread sheet; descriptive statistics was applied, cross tables were constructed, data was expressed in terms of frequency and percentage. Results: There were 200 study participants; majority of the mothers had knowledge regarding health benefits, nutritive values, immunological properties, cost effectiveness of breast milk. Timely sucking in first hour of birth was practiced only by 50% of mothers. 8% of mothers administered prelacteal feeds to their infants. 68.5% mothers practiced colostrum feeding. Out of total 114 normal vaginal deliveries 100 (87.71%) could initiate breast feed within one hour of life. All the mothers who could initiate breast feeding within 1 hour of life had normal vaginal delivered. Conclusion: The present study shows that participants have good knowledge attitude regarding breast feeding. We also recommend strengthening the public health education campaigns to promote breast feeding. Keywords: Breastfeeding;
