In the backdrop of introduction of the Wage Code Bill on 10th August, 2017, it gains pertinence to discuss various provisions of the bill in details and further more evaluate this Bill in the light of the various existing Labour Law statutes of India. This article makes an endeavour to access the impact of the Bill on several important aspects of hiring and firing, trade unions, workmen, unorganised sector so and so forth. This paper also highlights the major challenges to this Bill. While considering all the stakeholders, this paper proposes few changes that can be made to the Bill and suit the needs of every stakeholder.

The farmers and agriculture sector contribution towards the conservation and sustainable utilization of the bio-resources are immense and uncountable. In ancient time the practice of agriculture is considered to be great service to the society and this practice was intertwined in their tradition and culture. The current Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) regimes are encouraging commercialization of seed development, monoculture, protection of new plant varieties, microorganisms, and genetically modified organisms. As a consequence, our rich biogenetic diversity is being eroded irreversibly. Earlier, farmers use to get their food grains without any difficulty through traditional method of cultivation, they use to enjoy the freedom of cultivation, crop selling and exchange within and outside their community without any domination in the society and this led to prevail harmony in the society. But, now Genetically Modified Seed/Hybrid Variety is destroying the originality of traditional variety. This paper will analyze how today the culture of seed saving and seed exchange which has been the basis of Indian agriculture is under great threat and how new technologies, like the technologies of the green revolution and biotechnologies, devalue the cultural and traditional knowledge embodied in the seed and eroded the holistic knowledge of the seed from the community.

 Child sexual abuse is a significant problem in both magnitude and sequelae. Children have a right to a safe school environment where they can learn to the best of their ability. Violence in schools affects children in every country, every day from corporal punishment and bullying to gun and knife crime and sexual assault. Each and every child has the right to go to school without fear and except quality learning experience without threats of violence. Child sexual abuse is more occur in place where detection is low. School related abuse can happen away from school ground, at school campus, in school vehicles or even in a teacher’s or students home.

The police in developed countries face relatively few incidents of organized public defiance, and therefore the exercise of police discretion in handling major law and order problems has not been a focus of study. In contrast, the multicultural and multiethnic society in India, struggling to form a modern nation through a competitive democratic framework, presents situations virtually every day in which the police have to use discretionary judgments in maintaining order within a legal framework. The police in India have in fact failed to gain trust from common public, it will be relevant to point out herein that on various occasions the assumption of police has proven wrong and erroneous since they lack in broader perspective of issues and there approach is very limited and narrow. This paper examines the incompetence of Police in maintaining law and order by handling communal clashes between different religious groups, in dealing with political agitations and demonstrations, and in controlling crowds during visits by political leaders. Several tactics utilized by police administrators in dealing with large masses of people in these situations are described as well as the problems that arise from their discretionary judgments.

The UN Working Group on Access to Medicines identified six barriers to access to medicines in resource-poor countries 1 which include inadequate national commitment; inadequate human resources; failure of the international community to keep its promises of assistance to developing countries; lack of coordination of international aid; obstacles placed by the Trades Related Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS); and the current incentive structure for Research and development of medicines and vaccines to address priority health needs of developing countries

Linguistic landscaping is relatively a new realm and it appears elusive in terms of its precise meaning. In a general parlance, linguistic landscaping refers to the languages being visibly used in different public and commercial places. Linguistic landscaping is prevalent today in many regions and more so in multilingual societies. In the context of India, linguistic landscaping is a quite phenomenon in the contemporary times. For my purpose, I have taken up South India, which comprises of five states having distinct Dravidian languages, as the area of my study for linguistic landscaping. As compared to its counterpart north India, linguistic landscaping is more crystal conspicuous in south India owing to some fundamental reasons. Politically, there has been strong anti- Hindi fever across south India led by some Dravidian movements, particularly in Tamil Nadu. Today south India is considered to be the IT hub, and it throws lots of job opportunities in many sectors. This paper basically aims at examining the origin of the linguistic landscaping in south India, essentially focusing on the cosmopolitan capital cities. I intend to address this objective by delving into the effects of underpinning linguistic politics and the economic development on linguistic landscape in south India.

Live-in-relation and marriage are two varied concepts resembles some-how with certain differences in them. Live-in-relation is most older concept exist than the marriage, but widely used in these days. Pre-civilisation reflect the concept of live-in-relationship where the concept of marriage was not in vogue. The concept of marriage is a product of civilisation. Civilisation gave birth too many newer concepts and ideas which shaped the destiny of the human existence among which is the institution of marriage. Marriage is one of the universal social institutions established to control and regulate the life of mankind. It is closely associated with the institution of family. In fact both the institutions are complementary to each other. It is an institution with different implications in different cultures. Its purposes, functions and forms may differ from society to society but it is present everywhere as an institution [1]. The live-in-relation is another concept which will resemble with the marriage but differs in many aspects. The resembling factors are there will be two persons male and female live together for uncertain period. However, the period is very much limited in live-in-relationship which may end in short or result in marriage. Marriage is to a greater extent is permanent in character while live-in-relation is temporary. Imperfect rights and duties are the features of liv-in-relationship while in marriage they appears to be perfectly situated. More mutual trust and understanding find in marriage while they will be less in live-in-relation. The marriage is permanent institution where the married couple establish another social institution the family. The live-in-relation is a temporary arrangement which may break up permanently or result in marriage. The modern society marking ahead equally towards both marriage and live-in-relation as the necessity of the day

Objective To evaluate the impact of Parent Child Education on severity of internet addiction and parent-child relationship among internet addicted teenagers. Methods The study was based on Quasi- Experimental Pre-test Post-test research design. Total of 187 teenagers, both boys and girls in the age range of 13–16 years, who use internet for more than one year continuously, were selected from schools across Mumbai city. Young’s Internet Addiction Test was administered to assess the severity of internet addiction and structured parent – child relationship assessment questionnaire was used to assess the parent-child relationship of the internet addicted teenagers before and after implementing the Parent Child Education program. The Parent Child Education program prepared by the researcher also validated by the Scientific Advisory Committee of MGM Institute of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai and 15 experts from other reputed institutes across India. Results The statistical analysis of data indicated a significant difference between pre-test and post-tests score of severity of internet addiction. A statistically significant difference in parent-child relationship, between study and control group was found. Conclusions Parent Child Education has a significant impact on severity of internet addiction and parent-child relationship among internet addicted teenagers.
