Basal cell carcinoma accounts for at least 32% of all cancers globally. Of skin cancers other than melanoma, about 80% are basal cell carcinomas. Basal cell carcinoma commonly presents as ulcerative lesions on the exposed parts of the face. Modalities for the treatment of basal cell carcinoma include surgical excision, cryotherapy, and radiotherapy. This article presents case report of a middle aged female with recurrent basal cell carcinoma of the ala of nose treated with surface mould brachytherapy

Medulloblastoma is a malignant invasive embryonal tumor of the cerebellum. It accounts for approximately 15% to 20% of all central nervous system tumors in children. It is the most common brain tumor in children, but it is rare in adults.1 Medulloblastoma is an aggressive tumor (WHO Grade IV) and recurrences are common even after adequate treatment. Most of the recurrences occur within two years of initial treatment. The most common location is in the posterior fossa, followed by spinal, supratentorial, and uncommonly, systemic metastases. We present a case of a 13-year-old male who was operated for Medulloblastoma and received craniospinal irradiation two years back and presented to our institute with complaints of vomiting and headache for 15 days. MRI revealed a mass in the frontal-basifrontal region. Post-excision histopathology was suggestive of supratentorial metastasis. This case is rare because supra-tentorial metastases of medulloblastoma are very uncommon

Carotid sinus syndrome is a rare condition that is characterized by paroxysmal episodes of syncope, bradycardia and hypotension, the exact etiology of which remains unclear, it is also a rare finding in head and neck cancer patients In this article we present a case of a 60 year old male who is a known case of Carcinoma Left lateral border tongue with nodal recurrence and developed the above features of carotid sinus syndrome while undergoing treatment with external beam radiation therapy. It also states the interventions and modifications done during treatment to overcome the problem of carotid sinus syndrome such that radiation could be completed

Background: The objective of the study is to compare Forwarded IMRT FiF plan with Enhance Dynamic Wedge (EDW) tangential field radiotherapy in terms of dosimetric benefits for OARs early stage left side breast cancer radiotherapy. Materials and Methods: Twenty patients of consecutive left side breast cancer who underwent breast conserving surgery were included and without surgery patients were also included in the study. Two different methods of treatment plans were created for the entire left side breast cancer patients. Forwarded IMRT Field in Field plans (FiF) plan and Enhance Dynamic Wedge (EDW) planning’s are compared for doses in the planning target volume (PTV), the organs at risk (OARs) volume including ipsilateral lung, heart, left ascending coronary artery (LAD) and the contralateral breast, the dose homogeneity index (DHI), conformity index (CI) and the monitor units (MUs) counts required for the treatment. Results: The homogeneity conformity of the dose to planning target volume (PTV) and the dose delivered to the heart, contralateral breast, and left ascending coronary artery (LAD) were compared with two techniques in all the 20 patients. Both the radiotherapy techniques achieved comparable radiation dose delivery to PTV-95% of the prescribed dose covering > 95% of the breast PTV as well as the mean doses of the heart, ipsilateral lung, contralateral lung, aorta, left atrium, right atrium, left ventricle, right ventricle, contralateral breast. Forwarded IMRT FiF technique achieving better uniform dose distribution and conformity with lower doses to OARs and less MUs. Conclusion: The Forwarded IMRT FiF technique achieving better dose distribution in the PTV and spare the OARs. The lesser MUs required for treatment of the Forwarded IMRT FiF technique seems to be more advantageous compared to the Enhance Dynamic Wedge plan during whole left side breast irradiation

Introduction: Radical Cystectomy (RC) and lymph node dissection is standard of care in MIBC. Bladder preservation techniques like trimodal therapy (TMT) has shown similar outcomes to RC with a complete response (CR) rate of 64-74%, 5 year overall survival (OS) rate of 50-70% along with 40-60% of bladder preservation. As bladder cancers show EGFR overexpression, anti-EGFR can be a potential treatment option in improving outcomes. Method: We retrospectively evaluated Nimotuzumab with concomitant chemoradiation (CRT) in Muscle invasive advanced bladder cancer (MIBC). Effectiveness and safety outcomes were analysed in these patients. Results: Sixteen patients with a transitional cell carcinoma and mean age of 63.8 (±4.4) were included Majority of the patients were male (87.5%) and 87.5% patients had tobacco addictions. All patients had an Objective Response Rate (ORR) (15 complete response and 1 partial response). With a median follow up duration of 61 months, median OS and Disease Free Survival (DFS) was not reached. DFS & OS rate of 1, 3, 5 and 7 year was 100% & 100%, 93.8% & 93.8%, 81.3% & 93.8% and 81.3% & 87.5%, respectively. Two patients had metastasis and one patient had recurrence. Two deaths were reported. Only two RC were performed subjecting an organ preservation rate of 87.5%. There were no grade 3/4 AEs recorded. Conclusion: Nimotuzumab with concomitant CRT improves outcomes with manageable toxicity and can play a potential role as bladder preservation treatment option.
