  Mukhadushikais one of the commonest diseases noticed in day today clinical practice, characterized by Shalmali kantaka vata (thorn like) eruptions on the face. It is seen more as a cosmetic point of view than a medical one. In Samhitas it finds its place under the heading of Kshudra rogas which are considered as minor diseases. But in exceptional cases like Mukhadushika, these can produce a marked cosmetic disability and gives rise to much mental distress. On the basis of clinical features it can be compared with Acne vulgaris, a chronic inflammatory condition of the pilosebaceous follicles on the face. It is characterized by the development of comedones (Black heads), papules, pustules and cysts which may resolve to leave pitted scars. Modern medicine has failed at some or more extent to complete eradication of this disease. The classics have mainly mentioned the shodhana Chikitsa like virechana, vamana, nasya and Lepa for this disease. Clinical observation has shown the effect of sadyovirechana and Arjunatwak lepa in the management of Mukhadushika. A case report of 22-year old female who presented with red, tender acne over the cheeks, chin and chestassociated with severe pain and burning sensation has been presented here.

  Embryology is science dealing with formation & development of zygote till delivery of fetus. Ayurveda scholars like Charaka, Sushruta have described embryology in detail as Garbhavkranti. Sushruta in 5th chapter of sharirsthana mentioned about stages after fertilization till implantation. The study reveals that Sushruta had perfect idea about the embryological development and he had perfectly described same.

  In recent years Yoga has become commercialized and transformed into a mass movement in India as well as Western culture, where it has been made into a practice to enhance physical fitness and beauty, often labeled as Hatha Yoga. This Western approach to Yoga has in turn influenced the way in which Yoga is now taught and practiced in India. It is evident that the Western and modem Indian concept of Yoga and the traditional Indian Yoga systems are not the same in nature and goal. One might in fact wonder whether the use of the term Yoga is appropriate for the former. The combination of Ayurvedic medications and lifestyle management in addition to the effective use of various asana, breathing techniques and meditations have worked wonders on patients afflicted with joint pains down to those suffering from certain serious conditions. The beneficial combination provided to the patients being subject to the alternative mode of rehabilitation has also emerged as an effective therapeutic option for those suffering from psychiatric stress and anxiety. In modern day life, sitting on a piece of furniture is the body position in which one spends most of their waking hours, this can result in various ill effects. Knowledge of anatomical principles can aid in understanding the beneficial effects of practicing Yoga Asana.

  Introduction: Antimicrobial agents are commonly used nowadays for treating various bacterial and fungal infections. But still most of the physicians are unable to treat these infections appropriately due to hindrances like development of resistance, adverse effects, patient affordability etc. Tuttha Drava (Copper sulphate solution) formulation mentioned in Ayurvedic Texts can be an ideal medicine for treating various infectious diseases. Assessment of its antibacterial activity may provide scientific evidence for the study. Method: Tuttha Drava prepared with classical reference was subjected for analytical study and in vitro antibacterial activity by MIC (Minimum inhibitory concentration) method. The formulation was tested against bacteria like Gram + ve Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogens, and Gram –ve Pseudomonas auregenosa and Fluconazole as standard for comparison. Results: Tuttha Drava showed a significant zone of inhibition against two strains of bacteria namely Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogens. As Tuttha contains Fe (4.39%), Cu (15.74%), S (4.36%) it may contribute to promote positive health and vigour by increasing the immunity, thus making the body resistant against disease causing factors. Conclusion: Tuttha Drava showed a significant antibacterial activity ie Tuttha Drava shows good Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) affect on Streptococcus pyogens, Pseudomonas auregenosa.
