 Incidence and prevalence of disorders caused due to metabolic aberration in kapha and medas is mountaineering up in the general public in recent times. The present survey work roofed 87 patients of kapha medo margavarana (Hyperlipidemia) for scrupulous study of factors influencing the occurrence of this stipulation. Greater percentage of the study public was females engaged in house hold works. People from middle and upper socio economic status were dominating. Maximum of the survey populace were worried about their unusual weight gaining and BMI of nearly 30% of them were above 32.Risk factors related to dietetics, life style and genetic issues were seen in major percentage. Psychological stress, unsatisfied sexual life, and inactive living fashion were the other noticeable findings observed. Symptoms and signs of morbidity of kapha and medas, deviation in the normal functioning of rasa vaha and medo vaha srotas were the key results of examination.

 Background: Yoga practice aids in prevention and management of DM 2, reduce IRSrelated risk factors and improve the prognosis. However studies focusing effects of yoga asanas for long duration Type 2 diabetes mellitus in elderly are limited in literature. Objective: Effect of yoga asanas on glycosylated hemoglobin level and serum lipid profile in elderly subjects with diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus for more than 15 years. Methodology: 60 elderly with Type II diabetes for more than 15 years were recruited from Diabetic Clinic and randomly assigned into Educational group and Yoga group. In Educational group received advice and leaflets on general healthy lifestyle and exercise for every one month. The Yoga group was offered individualized Yoga asanas along with breathing and relaxation which are practiced under supervision for 45-60 minutes daily for 6 days a week over 12 weeks. Outcome measures Glycosylated haemoglobin (HbA1 c) and Serum lipid profile were measured pre and post in both the groups after 12 weeks. Results: Mean age of participant’s was 65.8±2.6 years with mean duration of diabetes 18.5 ± 2.2 years. Attendance of yoga classes was ranged from 68-90% for the participants. Compared between groups mean difference with 95% CI of outcomes measures in yoga group are glycosylated hemoglobin level .78%, fasting glucose level 28.43mg/dl (18.37-38.94), TC 18.67mg/dl (13.87-23.45), TG 22.05mg/dl (14.35-29.61), HDL 5.2mg/dl (4.54-5.86), LDL 6.81mg/dl (1.21-13.42) with significant difference of p<0.05. Conclusion: Yoga asanas under supervision have beneficial effects on glycosylated hemoglobin and serum lipid profile in chronic Type II diabetic elderly subjects.

 In the present paper the cultivation of medicinal plants having the greater demand are prioritized. In total 148 plants which are mostly incorporated in both classical as well as ethical formulations have been identified. The medicinal plants which are already being cultivated viz., Yavani, Jeeraka, Hingu, Dhanyaka, Methika, Shunthi, Haridra, Shatpuspha, Dadima, Kushmanda, Soorna, Badara etc.are excluded from this list cultivation of medicinal plants is incomplete without considering the application of manure and pesticides. Keeping this in view some of the aspects of organic farming techniques and herbal pesticides have been discussed.

 During the last two decades, the average life expectancy has shown an upward trend due to improved living conditions, better medical diagnosis and care, resulting in the increased population of aged people all over the world. Jara, an inescapable part of life, is of two types namely Kala-jara and Akala-jara. Kala-jara being Sahaja in nature is cherished by everyone but Akala-jara is unnatural and untimely inducing a set of physical and psychological problems. In Jarajanya-vikaras, Vata dosha is predominant, Pitta is irregular while Kapha is in a depleted state. This cascade of events targets the Vyadhikshamatva as well as the Satva of the Vriddha, submerging him in a sea of multiple pathology. Rasayana therapy is one of the important branch of Ashtanga Ayurveda- especially designed for Vayahsthapana, Ayurmedhabalakara and above all for Rogapaharana samarthya by replenishing the Rasa and other dhatus. This emphasize its utility in Geriatrics, where in all these vital factors are seen to be quite essential.

 Viruddha Ahara is said to be cause of –”Ninditavyadhis” by Acharya Charaka. Also he has given detailed description about its 18 types and the diseases developed by intake of Viruddha Ahara. Autoimmune diseases arise from an overactive immune response of the body against substances and tissues normally present in the body. In other words, the body actually attacks its own cells. The immune system mistakes some part of the body as a pathogen and attacks it. The cause of autoimmune diseases is still not fully understood. Various theories are postulated for the pathogenesis of autoimmune disease like processed foods are loaded with chemicals, hormones, steroids, trans-fats and sugars, which promote the creation of free radicals in the body, which in turn damage the cells it can be correlated as Viruddha Ahara. There are number of autoimmune diseases and the list of these diseases is still progressive. There are some autoimmune diseases which are enlisted in our Ayurvedic texts as Viruddha Aharajanya like- Hemolytic anemia (Pandu), Crohn’s disease(Grahani),Psoriasis (Kushtòha), Visphotka,Visarpa (Pemphigus vulgaris), Rheumatoid arthritis( Amavata) etc. Therefore, it can be said that Viruddha Ahara is root cause of autoimmune disorders.
