Dr. Paramananda Naik is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, since 20th December 2021. He has completed his M.A., M. Phil., and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Anthropology, Utkal University, Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He submitted his doctoral thesis, under the guidance of Prof. Sabita Acharya, to Utkal University with the support of the UGC–Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF), Government of India. He teaches Postgraduate (P.G.) students various papers, including Social-Cultural Anthropology, Indian Society and Applied Anthropology, Anthropological Thought, Psychological Anthropology, Tribes in India: Problems and Development, Linguistic Anthropology, and Anthropology of Gender. He has research experience in current issues such as health culture, gender and livelihood in prestigious research organizations. Prior to his current position, he worked as a Field Investigator (Supervisor) in the project titled “End Line Survey of Malaria Project Review in 10 Districts of Odisha” at the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Bhubaneswar, for one month. He also served as a Research Assistant at the same institution in the project “Improving Health Status of Under-Five Children in Rayagada District of Odisha” from 25th June 2015 to 30th June 2016. He later worked as a Research Assistant in the project titled “Impact Assessment of the Development Interventions on the Socio-Economic Conditions and Culture of the Major Tribal Communities in Four OMBADC Districts and Exploration of Their Felt Needs for Holistic Development” at the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Research and Training Institute (SCSTRTI), Bhubaneswar, from 22nd March 2021 to 15th December 2021. Dr. Naik has published 20 research articles in various journals and edited volumes. His research interests include health culture, food culture, material culture, gender development, policy studies, ethnic identity, caste, and tribal studies. He is a life member of several anthropological organizations. In the domain of academic publishing, Dr. Naik holds several important roles. He serves as an Editorial Member for the Edwin Group of Journals and as a Reviewer for the Asian Journal of Education and Social Studies. He is also a National Editorial Board Member of the Indian Journal of Research in Anthropology. His interdisciplinary engagement is further reflected in his editorial responsibilities with the Journal of Humanistic Studies and Social Dynamics. Dr. Naik is a life member of several national and international anthropological bodies, including INCAA, IUAES, Anthropos India Foundation, and others. His affiliations reflect a strong commitment to global academic collaboration and advancing anthropological research, teaching, and professional engagement across diverse interdisciplinary and cultural contexts.

Dr. Sanghamitra Sethi currently serves as the Assistant Director (Research) at the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Research and Training Institute (SCSTRTI), Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Prior to this, she worked as a lecturer at Sukinda College, Sukinda, Jajpur, and the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Bhubaneswar.

With a strong academic background in Anthropology, she is completed her Ph.D. from the P.G. Department of Anthropology (CAS), Utkal University. She holds M.Phil., and Master degree in Social-Cultural Anthropology from the same institution and has qualified the UGC-NET examination. Her academic training is complemented by extensive field-based research, including dissertations on tribal women’s livelihoods in Kalinganagar, and the Juang tribe in Keonjhar. Dr. Sethi has published 15 research papers in reputed journals and edited volumes on diverse themes such as tribal crafts, gender roles in handicrafts, digital technology in museums, and shifting cultivation practices. She has actively participated in numerous national and international seminars and workshops addressing issues of maternal health, gender, tribal livelihoods, and heritage conservation. Her key interests lie in tribal ethnography, women’s development, and applied anthropology. In addition to her academic pursuits, she has contributed significantly to empirical research and policy-oriented documentation at SCSTRTI.

Her commitment to bridging academic insights with grassroots realities positions her as a promising scholar in tribal and developmental studies. Dr. Sethi is passionate about using anthropological research to address social inequalities and inform inclusive development policies in Odisha and beyond.
