I am Dr. Vishal Goel, currently serving as DES (Soil Science) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Yamunanagar under CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. With over 18 years of experience spanning research, extension, and industry, my professional focus is on soil health management, sustainable agriculture, and farmer-oriented innovations. I earned my Ph.D. in Soil Science from CCS HAU, Hisar in 2007 and began my career at Saraswati Sugar Mills Ltd., Yamunanagar, where I established and managed a Soil Testing Laboratory. Later, at the Sugarcane Breeding Institute, Regional Centre, Karnal, I served as In-charge of the Sugarcane Quality Laboratory, contributing to varietal evaluation and quality assessment of various sugarcane breeding programs. Since 2022, in my present role at KVK Yamunanagar, I have been leading district-level initiatives in natural farming, fermented organic manure development, microbial-based waste management, and cluster frontline demonstrations in pulses. My research contributions include more than 25 peer-reviewed publications in reputed journals, addressing themes such as soil fertility assessment, nutrient management, organic amendments, and machine learning applications in soil science. I have also guided two postgraduate students, furthering academic mentorship and capacity building. In addition, I have actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, where I presented research papers and shared findings with the wider scientific community, facilitating exchange of innovative ideas and collaborative opportunities. I am an active member of the Indian Society of Soil Science and the Indian Society of Pulses Research and Development. As a committed researcher, mentor, and extension scientist, I look forward to contributing meaningfully as a member of the editorial board by supporting quality publications and advancing global knowledge in soil science and sustainable agriculture.
