Introduction

I am Dr. Manisha Verma, a dedicated and accomplished dental professional specializing in Periodontology, currently serving as a Senior Resident at the esteemed King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow. My clinical foundation is exceptionally strong, backed by a Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Periodontics, which I earned from KGMU in 2021, and a BDS completed in 2016 with First Division honors. This rigorous training has equipped me with profound expertise in managing complex periodontal and peri-implant diseases, advanced surgical procedures, and aesthetic gum treatments. I am committed to translating this high-level academic and clinical knowledge into exceptional patient care and effective departmental contributions, particularly through my roles in teaching undergraduate students and dental hygienists.

My commitment to the field extends significantly into academic scholarship, research, and thought leadership. I have established a considerable presence in dental literature, authoring and co-authoring 14 publications, including original research, in-depth case reports, and comprehensive review articles. My research interests are broad, covering topics from implant osseointegration and forensic odontology to innovative techniques like aesthetic crown lengthening and depigmentation. Furthermore, I have contributed to the knowledge base by publishing a book on the “Surgical Management of Periodontal Pockets.” I am an active life member of the Indian Society of Periodontology (ISP) and the Indian Society of Dental Traumatology (ISDT), regularly participating in and chairing scientific sessions at national conferences.

Beyond the clinical and academic realms, I have demonstrated extraordinary resilience and a deep commitment to public health. This was most evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, where I served as a frontline warrior during both the 2020 and 2021 waves, undertaking challenging 14-day shifts in isolation wards to serve patients outside my specialty. This spirit of dedication is balanced by a robust extracurricular profile, showcasing strong leadership and teamwork skills. My achievements—such as captaining a winning cricket team, securing first prize in the women's resident marathon, and receiving the India Prime Women Icon Award in 2022—reflect a holistic, determined, and highly motivated professional ready to take on the most demanding roles.
