Introduction

Dr. Vaishali Khare Professor, Department of Animal Genetics & Breeding, College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Jabalpur (NDVSU). Dr Vaishali Khare a dedicated veterinarian, Academician and   molecular geneticist with a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and over 13 years of professional experience in teaching, research, extension and field veterinary services. My core specialization is Molecular Genetics with a focus on livestock genomics, gene polymorphism and association of economic traits. My work aims to integrate molecular tools with conventional animal breeding to improve productivity of indigenous livestock, conserve native germplasm, and translate lab-based genetic research into farmer-friendly technologies. Dr Khare started her professional carrier as vetenarian in state services in 2011 and then  joined NDVSU in 2012 as Assistant Professor, selected as Associate Professor in 2022 and now serving as Professor from 2025. Recipient of the Honorary Fellowship of Society of Life Sciences, Utkrishtha Vaigyanik samman 2021, Women Scientist Award 2022 and Eminent Geneticist Award 2023, She had published 25+ research papers  and 13 review articles in various NASS rated scientific journals of International and national repute, , 4 books and 3 monographs, developed the NDVSU Livestock App and an educational website on Animal Genetics & Breeding
