I
Supriya Mondal, Ph.D. Scholar in Plant Pathology at Assam
Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam, India. I completed my B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture
from The Neotia University, West Bengal, and my M.Sc. in Mycology and Plant
Pathology from the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu
University, Varanasi. I have qualified the UGC-NET in Environmental
Science in December 2024, June 2025, and December 2025, as well as the ASRB-NET
in Plant Pathology (2025).
My
research interests encompass molecular plant pathology, plant virology,
mycology, metabolomics, soil microflora, and plant disease management. I am
particularly interested in understanding plant–pathogen interactions and
exploring innovative and sustainable approaches for disease management,
including molecular and RNA-based strategies.
I
have contributed to scientific research through research publications, book
chapters, and scientific articles. My research publication on exogenously
applied double-stranded RNAs as a strategy to trigger RNA silencing for
sustainable plant disease management reflects my interest in emerging
molecular approaches for crop protection. I have also contributed book chapters
on metabolomics and plant disease resistance and major diseases of
cucurbits, along with scientific articles on biocontrol and sericulture.
I
have actively participated in national and international scientific
conferences, workshops, and specialized training programmes covering genome
engineering and gene editing, cytogenomic approaches, molecular plant
pathology, bioengineering, digital science, and plant disease management. I
have presented my research through oral and poster presentations at several
scientific platforms and received the Best Oral Presentation Award at an
International Conference on Agriculture and Allied Sciences focused on
climate-smart agriculture.
Alongside
my research activities, I have developed substantial experience in scientific
peer review and scholarly communication. I have served as a reviewer for
several peer-reviewed journals and scholarly publications in the fields of
plant pathology, plant and soil sciences, environmental sciences,
biotechnology, microbiology, agricultural sciences, and related disciplines. I
am also a member of the Asian Phytopathological Society.
As
an Editorial Board Member and peer reviewer, I am committed to maintaining
high standards of scientific quality, ensuring rigorous and constructive peer
review, promoting research integrity, and supporting the dissemination of
reliable and impactful scientific knowledge. I look forward to contributing
my academic background, interdisciplinary research interests, and reviewing
experience to the advancement of high-quality research in plant pathology,
plant health, molecular biology, and sustainable agriculture.
