I am a Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Medical College and Hospital, Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, with more than 15 years of experience in medical education, public health, clinical and community-based research, and academic administration. I completed my postgraduate training in Community Medicine at Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, where I served as a Junior Resident from June 2011 to April 2014. Following my postgraduate training, I worked as an Assistant Medical Officer in the Non-Communicable Disease Department of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, gaining valuable experience in public health programmes and NCD prevention and management. I subsequently joined Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Nerul, Navi Mumbai, as an Assistant Professor and served there for nearly six years. I then worked as an Associate Professor at the School of Public Health, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Navi Mumbai, where I further developed my interests in public health research, epidemiology, biostatistics, and medical education. Since April 2023, I have been associated with Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Medical College and Hospital, Ahilyanagar, initially as an Associate Professor and currently as Professor of Community Medicine. My academic interests include epidemiology, non-communicable diseases, community health, medical education, health services research, research methodology, biostatistics, and application of emerging technologies in public health. I have been actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research projects, academic curriculum development, mentoring of students and faculty, and scientific writing. I have contributed to approximately 12 research publications and have been involved in several multidisciplinary research activities. I am keen to contribute to the journal’s editorial team through my experience in Community Medicine, public health research, critical appraisal of scientific literature, research methodology, and academic writing. I believe that my academic and research experience can contribute meaningfully to maintaining the scientific quality, relevance, and integrity of the journal.
