Introduction

Dr. Shashi Meena is an ARS Scientist (Plant Physiology) at the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. She holds an M.Sc. in Botany from the University of Delhi and a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology from ICAR-IARI. Her research primarily focuses on the mitigation and management of abiotic stresses in wheat, with particular expertise in the physiological, biochemical, and molecular responses to heat and combined drought-heat stress. Currently, she is investigating the role of bioregulators in enhancing abiotic stress tolerance in wheat. Dr. Meena's work contributes to the development of climate-resilient wheat cultivars aimed at sustaining crop productivity under adverse environmental conditions. She has received several accolades for her research, including the Young Woman Scientist Award at an international conference in 2024, the Best Paper Presentation Certificate at the International Conference held at Navsari in 2023, as well as Best Article and Best Poster Awards.
