Introduction


Dr. Ranapratap Anaji Raut is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth (BSKKV), Dapoli, Maharashtra, India. He holds a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from Navsari Agricultural University, Gujarat, and has also qualified ICAR-NET. His research interests include integrated disease management, post-harvest pathology, biofungicides, and the development of eco-friendly formulations from agricultural and industrial by-products. Dr. Raut has contributed more than 45 research papers to peer-reviewed journals, authored two books, and participated in the development of several disease management technologies approved by Joint Agresco. His work has particularly focused on mango, rice, guava, sapota, and cashew, with emphasis on sustainable disease management strategies. He is a recipient of several honors, including the Hexamar Gold Medal for his master’s degree, the Indian Researcher Award (UK, 2021), and the Best Scientist National Award (2024). He has also won recognition for best research articles and presentations at national scientific forums. Actively engaged in teaching, research, and extension, Dr. Raut continues to contribute to the advancement of plant pathology and sustainable crop protection for the benefit of farmers and the scientific community.
