II am Dr. Namrata Gaur, an accomplished Cardio-Vascular and
Thoracic Surgeon with extensive clinical, academic, and healthcare leadership
experience. I serve as the Associate Professor & Head of CTVS, as well as
the Officiating Medical Superintendent at AIIMS Rishikesh. My academic
foundation includes an MBBS and MS from Gandhi Medical College, an M.Ch. in
CTVS from KEM Hospital & Seth G.S. Medical College, Mumbai, a Fellowship of
the Indian Association of Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgeons (FIACS), and a
Master of Hospital Administration (MHA). Clinically, I specialize in complex
surgeries including CABG, off-pump bypass, cardiac valves, congenital defects,
and vascular surgery. Notably, I pioneered the first catheter-based
Trans-Aortic Valve Implant (TAVI) in Uttarakhand in 2019. Beyond clinical
excellence, my career is defined by robust organizational and administrative
capabilities. I successfully established the cardiovascular surgery department
at AIIMS Rishikesh, and previously built a state-of-the-art, NABH-compliant
cardiac facility at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dehradun. My leadership was
heavily tested during the pandemic, where I took on critical portfolios as a
Core Team Member for COVID-19 Management, leading logistics, quality control,
ambulance services, and quarantine setups. With nearly seven years of formal
teaching experience across premier institutes like Medanta, Escorts Heart
Institute, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, and CMC Ludhiana, I am deeply invested
in medical education and introduced the B.Sc. Perfusion Technology course at
AIIMS in 2020. My contributions to medicine have been recognized globally,
earning me the Distinguished Woman in Health & Sciences Award 2020.
Alongside teaching and leadership, I remain dedicated to clinical research,
currently driving projects on public health, infection control protocols, and
cardiovascular health. I blend advanced surgical innovation with seasoned
administrative excellence to elevate healthcare infrastructure and patient care.
