I am Dr. Neeshu Joshi, currently serving at the Agriculture Research Sub-station, Sumerpur, Pali, under Agriculture University, Jodhpur. I hold a Ph.D. in Agronomy from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, where my research focused on weed management in direct-seeded rice–brahmi intercropping systems and zero-till wheat rotation. With strong academic credentials including M.Sc. (Ag.) and B.Sc. (Ag.) Hons., I have consistently maintained first-division results and qualified the ICAR NET examinations. My research interests revolve around weed management, conservation agriculture, intercropping systems, and agronomic strategies for enhancing crop productivity and resource-use efficiency. Over the years, I have gained hands-on experience in field experimentation, soil and plant analysis, data handling, and statistical interpretation across various experimental designs.
My professional experience includes serving as Assistant Professor (Agronomy), where I conducted several research trials and contributed extensively to agronomic research and teaching. I have authored multiple research papers published in reputed national and international journals, book chapters, review articles, and numerous popular articles in both Hindi and English. My conference record includes presentations at major national and international scientific platforms. Throughout my Ph.D. and M.Sc. research, I developed effective weed management strategies that significantly improved grain yield, weed control efficiency, profitability, and crop performance under direct-seeded systems. I have also handled diverse farm equipment, precision tools, and laboratory instruments, strengthening my technical expertise in agricultural research. My awards include the Young Scientist Award (2017), ICAR JRF, and recognition in cultural and academic events.
Beyond research, I am actively involved in extension, academic activities, and community-oriented programmes. I possess strong computer skills, data management abilities, and experience preparing project reports, ZREAC documents, and research proposals. My broader interest lies in sustainable agriculture, climate-smart agronomy, crop diversification, and the conservation of native plant resources of Western Rajasthan. With dedication to scientific growth and farmer-oriented solutions, I aim to contribute meaningfully to agronomic research, extension activities and the development of resilient agricultural systems.
