Myself, Dr. Ranjana Sinha, is presently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of
Livestock Farm Complex (PP), Bihar Veterinary College, Bihar Animal Sciences
University (BASU), Patna. My specialised
areas of research include Animal Production, Housing Management, Animal
Behaviour and Welfare, Infrared Thermography, Mastitis, and Semen Quality
Evaluation.
I have completed my B.V.Sc. & A.H. from Bihar
Agricultural University, Sabour, Bihar, in 2013, followed by M.V.Sc. in 2015 and a Ph.D. in
2018 from ICAR–National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal, Haryana.
Prior to joining academia, I served as a field Veterinarian
under the Department of Dairy, Fishery and Animal Resources, Government of
Bihar, from 2019 to 2023. During this period, she gained valuable
practical and field-level experience in livestock management, animal health
care, veterinary services, and farmer-oriented livestock production practices.
Since April 2023, I have been serving as Assistant
Professor at Bihar Veterinary College, BASU, Patna. My present role is actively involved in teaching,
research, extension, and academic activities, with particular emphasis on
sustainable livestock production, animal behaviour and welfare, housing
management, reproductive management, semen quality evaluation and application
of advanced technologies such as infrared thermography in livestock research.
My professional interests focussed on developing scientifically
sound, welfare-oriented, and sustainable livestock production systems that
can contribute to improved animal productivity, health, reproductive
efficiency, and the livelihood of livestock farmers.
