Introduction

I am Dr. Nagendra Verma, a highly accomplished biomedical research professional with over a decade of international experience dedicated to advancing cellular and molecular biology. My robust background, spanning both industry and academia, is highlighted by a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine from Sapienza University of Rome and subsequent high-impact research positions, including my current role as a Research Scientist at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. My expertise is primarily concentrated on cutting-edge fields such as therapeutic applications of Extracellular Vesicles (EVs)/Exosomes, stem cell biology, and molecular oncology. This commitment to scientific discovery is quantified by my contribution to 35+ peer-reviewed articles, including 6 publications in high-impact international journals, demonstrating my ability to drive research from conception to communication.

My practical experience is exceptionally strong in complex molecular and cellular techniques, including CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, advanced cell culture (Primary, Stem, and Human Organ), and sophisticated biophysical methods. At Cedars Sinai, I discovered the novel therapeutic and regulatory role of limbal stem cell (LSC) and limbal epithelial cell (LEC)-derived EVs in corneal wound healing, a project directly aimed at addressing vision loss. Previously, I made significant contributions to cancer research by discovering novel molecular inhibitors for STAT3-dependent cancers. Furthermore, I possess excellent lab and project management skills, including optimizing molecular tools, managing lab resources, and successfully training a diverse group of students, which speaks to my meticulous attention to detail and strong troubleshooting ability.

Beyond the bench, I am a highly collaborative and adaptable scientist with proven interpersonal skills, successfully integrating into multicultural, interdisciplinary teams for over three years. My commitment to the scientific community is evidenced by serving as a Review Editor for multiple prestigious journals and presenting at major conferences like ARVO. I thrive in dynamic, challenging environments where I can leverage my analytical skills, creative thinking, and comprehensive technical expertise to solve critical biological problems. I am eager to apply my extensive background in molecular mechanisms and therapeutic discovery to drive the next wave of biomedical innovation.
