Introduction

am Dr. Manisha B. Sinha, an accomplished academic and clinician currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy at the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur. My career is built upon a strong foundational medical education, commencing with my MBBS degree from Pt. JNM Medical College, Raipur, and culminating in an MD in Anatomy from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. This rigorous academic path solidified my commitment to understanding the intricate structures of the human body and translating that knowledge into practical clinical applications. My initial research, centered on the 'Histomorphometry of umbilical cord and its vessels in pre-eclampsia and normal pregnancies,' immediately placed me at the intersection of microscopic anatomy and obstetrical pathology, setting the stage for a research career focused on clinical relevance.

My core research interest lies in surgical and applied anatomy, with a particular focus on variational and fetal studies that impact regional block procedures and surgical interventions. I have contributed significantly to the academic community through my extensive publication record, including six papers as the lead author and six as a co-author, in respected journals like Eur J Anat and IJHBR. Key areas of exploration include the morphological variations of the sciatic nerve in the gluteal region, anatomical considerations for sciatic nerve division in the popliteal fossa, and the surgical anatomy of structures like the sacral hiatus and occipital condyle. I have also presented numerous oral papers at national conferences, consistently seeking to advance the understanding of anatomy that informs clinical decision-making and patient safety.

My professional experience has been diverse and comprehensive, starting with roles as a Senior Demonstrator/Tutor at GMCH, Chandigarh, and a Senior Resident at PGIMER, Chandigarh, before assuming my current Assistant Professor role. This experience has equipped me with profound skills in teaching and training medical, dental, physiotherapy, and nursing students across various academic levels. I am actively involved in all teaching and practical assignments, ensuring students gain a robust and clinically integrated understanding of human anatomy. My dedication is rooted in a passion for academic excellence, recognized by achievements such as the Certificate of Merit in Anatomy during my MBBS. I remain committed to shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals and driving anatomical research forward.
