Introduction

I am Dr. Kavita Khoiwal, a dedicated and accomplished physician currently serving as an Additional Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at AIIMS, Rishikesh. My academic journey began with an MBBS from SMS Medical College, Jaipur, and culminated in an MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, followed by a Senior Residency. Over the years, I've committed myself to both clinical practice and academic excellence, driven by a career objective to leverage my skills to the best use and continuously assist in my personal and professional development within a dynamic work culture. My foundational years at AIIMS, New Delhi, provided intensive exposure to high-risk obstetrics, endoscopic surgery, reproductive endocrinology, and feto-maternal medicine, shaping me into a versatile specialist.

My expertise is particularly focused on Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Surgery (MIGS), a field I've continuously enhanced through advanced training, including a Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (F.MAS) and the CSEEMIG fellowship. This commitment to surgical innovation is evidenced by numerous accolades, such as the Limca Book of Records 2023 for the removal of the heaviest ovarian tumor (41.1 Kg) and the IAGE Young Skill & Excellence Star Award. As an academic, my passion lies in research, evidenced by a vast portfolio of publications, including many in high-impact PubMed-indexed journals. My research spans critical areas like COVID-19 in pregnancy, comparative surgical outcomes (e.g., Laparoscopic Pectopexy vs. Sacropexy), and the development of AI-assisted tools for preterm birth prediction, showcasing my dedication as a Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI on multiple extramural and intramural projects.

I am proud to be a highly awarded and recognised professional, having received the Best Researcher Award 2023 at AIIMS Rishikesh and the "Sewa Ratn" award, reflecting my commitment to patient care and academic rigour. My continuous involvement in national and international scientific forums, coupled with my active memberships in key professional bodies like IAGE and FOGSI, underscores my dedication to advancing women's health. I look forward to contributing my expertise in clinical care, surgical excellence, and cutting-edge research to any platform that seeks to elevate the standards of medical education and practice.
