I am Dr. Karthik Krishna Munagala, a highly accomplished and dedicated Professor in the Department of Periodontology with a profound commitment to utilizing my professional skills to focus on patient problems and effectively cure dental issues. With over 19 years of academic and clinical experience following my BDS from the College of Dental Sciences, Davangere, and an MDS from Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital—where I graduated as the Batch Topper in 2006—I have built a strong foundation in advanced Periodontics. My career objective is firmly rooted in offering my expertise to a prestigious organization to deliver exceptional patient care, driven by my deep understanding of the field and dedication to ongoing professional development.

My extensive professional journey includes significant academic roles, progressing from Senior Lecturer to Reader and currently serving as a Professor since 2015. This tenure reflects not only my commitment to teaching and mentorship but also my hands-on clinical proficiency in a wide array of procedures, including flap surgeries, regenerative techniques (grafting and GTR), esthetic soft tissue surgeries, and implantology. Beyond my clinical and academic duties, I maintain an active engagement with the scientific community. I am a Life Member of the Indian Society of Periodontology, have participated in numerous national and international conferences, and co-organized several Continuing Dental Education (CDE) programs on topics like Implant Placement and Legal Aspects in Dentistry.

Further demonstrating my scholarly commitment, I have an impressive publication record, with over 20 published articles in peer-reviewed journals, covering diverse and cutting-edge topics from Photodynamic Therapy and PRP/PRF in periodontal regeneration to the use of Lasers and Nanorobots in Dentistry. This intellectual contribution is complemented by my roles as a Reviewer for several esteemed journals, including the British Medical Journal and the Indian Journal of Dental Research, highlighting my dedication to maintaining high standards in dental research. As a flexible, innovative, and committed professional with strong communication and problem-solving skills, I am eager to leverage my comprehensive expertise to make a significant contribution to your esteemed organization.
