IntroductionAcademic Foundation & Current Role Good morning/afternoon. My name is Jatiprasad Barala. I am a dedicated researcher currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University, Bhubaneswar, where I maintain a CGPA of 9.02. My academic journey has been marked by consistent excellence; I hold an M.Sc. in Soil Science from Assam Agricultural University and a B.Sc. in Agriculture from Centurion University of Technology and Management, achieving First Class with Distinction throughout. My educational background has provided me with a rigorous foundation in agricultural sciences, specifically in understanding complex soil systems.
Research Experience & Publications In terms of professional experience, I have served as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at the prestigious ICAR-National Rice Research Institute (NRRI). There, I worked on a project focused on Paddy Straw Residue Management through in-situ microbial decomposition, gaining hands-on expertise in sustainable agricultural practices. My research aptitude is evidenced by my publication record; I have published eight research papers in reputed journals such as Science of the Total Environment and Archives of Agronomy and Soil Science, with two additional papers currently communicated. My research primarily focuses on micronutrient distribution, soil fertility, and the management of saline soils in coastal ecosystems.
Technical Expertise & Professional Engagement Beyond my core research, I am actively engaged in the scientific community. I have presented multiple posters and oral papers at national and international conferences on topics ranging from precision nitrogen management to soil taxonomy. I also serve as a reviewer for scientific manuscripts, which keeps me updated with the latest global trends in agriculture. My core technical expertise lies in Soil Fertility, Pedology, Soil Chemistry, and Problem Soil Management. I am eager to bring this blend of academic rigor, practical research experience, and technical proficiency to contribute effectively to this organization.
