My name is Dr. Divyanshu Singh Tomar, and I am currently working as an Assistant Professor in Livestock Production Management at the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Datia, under Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University, Jhansi, where I joined in June 2024. I was born on 26th October 1996 and hail from Morena district of Madhya Pradesh. I completed my B.V.Sc. & A.H. from the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Mhow (NDVSU, Jabalpur) in 2019, followed by M.V.Sc. in Livestock Production Management from ICAR–National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal in 2021 with distinction, where I also received the Dean’s Merit Award and Institute Fellowship. I subsequently qualified ICAR–ASRB NET (2021) and was awarded the ICAR Senior Research Fellowship for pursuing doctoral studies. Professionally, I began my career as a Veterinary Assistant Surgeon in the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of Madhya Pradesh, where I gained extensive field experience in lives stock health, fertility management, and farmer advisory. Later, I was also selected as a Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) by ICAR–ASRB, further strengthening my academic and professional standing. My research contributions span across animal nutrition, reproductive management, climate-resilient livestock production, and application of AI and machine learning in dairy science. I have published over 40 publications, including 12 research papers in reputed journals, 4 reviews, 8 book chapters, 10 conference proceedings, 15 popular articles, and 3 practical manuals. My works have appeared in journals such as Tropical Animal Health and Production, Journal of Dairy Research, Indian Journal of Dairy Science, Indian Research Journal of Extension Education, and Animal Production Science. I have been fortunate to receive several recognitions, including the Dr. D.K. Bidarkar Award (2023), the “Ganga Singh Chauhan” Memorial Award for Extension Education (2023), and multiple best poster presentation awards at national conferences. Alongside teaching both UG and PG courses across the University’s colleges, I have actively contributed to training programs, frontline demonstrations, and extension activities. I also serve as Assistant In-charge of the Cattle and Buffalo Unit at COVAS Datia, and contribute institutionally through roles in infrastructure development and livestock purchase committees. Beyond academics, I have actively participated in NCC with “C” and “B” certificates, sports, and extracurricular activities, and I enjoy traveling, hiking, cooking, and photography. Overall, my professional journey reflects a balance of teaching, research, field service, and extension, with the overarching aim of bridging laboratory innovations with on-farm applications to improve livestock productivity, farmer income, and rural livelihoods.
