Introduction


Dr. Vidushi Kulshrestha is a highly distinguished academic and clinician serving as an Additional Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. Holding prestigious fellowships like the FICOG and FIMSA, Dr. Kulshrestha has built a career marked by exceptional clinical practice and profound commitment to medical education and public health. Her academic foundation is stellar, having achieved a Gold Medal in Medicine and a Distinction in Biochemistry during her MBBS, followed by a post-graduate MS in Obst. & Gynae from S.N. Medical College, Agra.

Dr. Kulshrestha’s true impact is reflected in her extensive and award-winning research career, which spans reproductive medicine, gynaecological endocrinology, and high-risk obstetrics. She is an author on over 50 publications in indexed journals and book chapters, focusing on critical areas such as the diagnosis and management of genital tuberculosis in infertile women, the efficacy of various medical treatments for abnormal uterine bleeding and leiomyoma (fibroids), and innovative strategies for gestational diabetes. Her excellence has been consistently recognized with over 48 awards and distinctions, including the highly competitive FOGSI-CORION AWARD for Best Scientific Research Work, highlighting her significant contributions to advancing clinical knowledge.

Beyond her research and teaching at AIIMS, Dr. Kulshrestha is a recognized national expert and an influential leader in shaping healthcare guidelines across India. She has served as faculty and expert for numerous government bodies and initiatives, including the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, contributing to the formulation of national guidelines on Maternal Health, Comprehensive Abortion Care (CAC), and tuberculosis. As a Founder Member of the Gynaecological Endocrine Society of India (GESI) and an active editor for several medical bulletins, Dr. Kulshrestha is committed to both setting high standards in her specialty and disseminating critical clinical knowledge to the wider medical community.
