IntroductionCurrent Role & Academic Foundation I am Dr. Pusparaj Aditinandan Pradhan, a dedicated Pediatrician with a specialized focus on Pediatric Critical Care and Oncology. Currently, I serve as a Consultant in the Department of Pediatric Oncology at the Bagchi Sri Shankara Cancer Centre and Research Institute in Bhubaneswar. My medical journey began with a strong academic foundation at SCB Medical College, Cuttack, where I completed both my MBBS and MD in Pediatrics. During my undergraduate studies, I was honored with a Gold Medal in Medicine and secured distinction in multiple subjects, reflecting my commitment to clinical excellence from the very beginning of my career.
Clinical Leadership & Specialized Skills My professional experience is defined by hands-on leadership in critical care settings. Prior to my current role, I served as an Assistant Professor at PGIMER and Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, where I was the In-charge of the 6-bedded Pediatric ICU (PICU) for over three years. In this capacity, I managed complex cases requiring acute intervention. I possess specialized technical skills, having been trained in Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and ECHO by the Government of Odisha and NNF (AIIMS Bhubaneswar), as well as Hemodialysis. Furthermore, I hold a Fellowship in Pediatric Nutrition (FPN) and maintain certifications in advanced life support systems including NRP, BLS, and PALS, ensuring I am equipped to handle high-stakes medical emergencies.
Research, Interests & Professional Commitment Beyond clinical practice, I am deeply invested in medical research and continuous education. I have completed the Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR) and have authored multiple publications in reputed journals, covering diverse topics such as febrile seizures, oxygen saturation indices in respiratory failure, and thalassemia. My special interests lie in Pediatric Nephrology, Nutrition, and Intensive Care, driving me to integrate evidence-based research with compassionate patient care. As a life member of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) and the National Neonatology Forum (NNF), I am committed to advancing pediatric healthcare standards and improving outcomes for critically ill children in Odisha and beyond.
