Introduction


Dr. Mona Bedi is an undergraduate from Lady Hardinge medical college , New Delhi and post graduate from MAMC . She joined MAMC as faculty in 2000 and is now working as Director Professor, Department of Physiology, Maulana Azad Medical College. Her area of focus are Autonomic nervous system, Exercise Physiology and Cardio-Respiratory physiology.  Dr Mona Bedi has published a significant number of papers in foreign and Indian indexed journals. Her original review article, ‘Role of cardiovascular reactivity  to mental stress in predicting future hypertension’ published in Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypertension (USA) garnered worldwide appreciation from scientific community. She has received Rashtriya Ekta Puraskar for her contribution in teaching and research work.  She has revised and edited  : Ghai’s textbook of practical Physiology 9th and 10th edition and has co-authored  Practical Physiology: A Student’s Workbook and Exam Preparatory Manual for undergraduates in Physiology A dedicated teacher, she is extremely popular amongst her students. Till date she has guided a number of post-graduate students in their thesis work. .She has chaired numerous scientific sessions in various conferences all over India and is an active member of many committees constituted by the Delhi Government.
