Introduction

I am Dr. Surendra Kumar Jangid, DM in Cardiac Anaesthesia, currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cardiac Anaesthesia and Critical Care at AIIMS, New Delhi. My expertise lies in the comprehensive perioperative management of patients undergoing complex cardiac surgeries, with a focus on advanced hemodynamic monitoring, transoesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and critical care of high-risk patients. Over the years, I have gained significant experience in adult and paediatric cardiac surgical procedures including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve surgeries, and congenital heart disease corrections. My academic interests centre around diastolic dysfunction, perioperative echocardiography, and optimization of post-operative outcomes, areas in which I am actively involved in clinical research. In addition to my clinical role, I am deeply engaged in teaching and mentoring postgraduate and super-specialty trainees, with the goal of fostering evidence-based practice and advancing the standards of cardiac anaesthesia. I also contribute to research that seeks to bridge the gap between clinical challenges and improved patient outcomes, with current work focused on the prognostic impact of diastolic dysfunction in cardiac surgery. Through my role at AIIMS, I strive to integrate clinical excellence, academic growth, and research innovation in the field of cardiac anaesthesia and critical care.
