Dr. Rupsa
Banerjee is a public health specialist with over ten years of experience in
medical education, clinical care, public health research, health systems
strengthening, and capacity building. She holds an MBBS and MD in Community
Medicine from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, a DNB in
Community Medicine, and diplomas in Mental Health and Community Mental Health.
Dr. Banerjee has played a key role in operationalizing Ayushman Bharat Health
& Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs) nationwide, conducting 13 national training
programs for Comprehensive Primary Health Care. She has co-led ten funded
projects, including international research supported by NIHR UK, Thrasher
Foundation and University College London, focusing on maternal and child health
and non-communicable diseases, with expertise in process evaluation and quality
monitoring. She has received the Global Health Research Short Placement Award
for Research Collaboration (GHR SPARC award) from NIHR UK. With over 35
publications and contributions to several policy documents, operational
guidelines and training modules for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,
her work spans diverse areas of public health impact.
