Introduction

I am Dr. Shweta Goswami, MBBS, MD (Community Medicine), a committed academician and public health professional currently serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi. With a strong foundation in epidemiology, health systems, and maternal and child health, I bring over a decade of experience in teaching, research, and field-based public health practice. Throughout my academic journey, I have served at institutions such as ESIC Medical Colleges in Faridabad and Kolkata, and KPC Medical College, Kolkata. I have successfully completed a Diploma in Applied Epidemiology and hold certifications in Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) and Biomedical Research. I have actively contributed to the organization and facilitation of national-level workshops on research methodology, diagnostic test evaluation, and clinical research. My academic contributions include publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals, authorship of book chapters, and involvement in state and nationally funded research projects focusing on health promotion, behavioral interventions, digital health, and public health program evaluation. I am particularly passionate about translating academic research into community-level action to support evidence-based policymaking. In addition to teaching and research, I actively mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students. I have also guided ICMR Short-Term Studentship (STS) projects, encouraging early engagement in research among medical students and nurturing their skills in scientific thinking, ethics, and writing. I place a high value on scientific integrity, ethical research, and interdisciplinary collaboration. In my role as an Editorial Board Member, I strive to support high-quality, methodologically sound research and promote a culture of constructive peer review. I am a life member of the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM), Indian Public Health Association (IPHA), and the Epidemiology Foundation of India (EFI). Through my editorial responsibilities, I aim to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of public health knowledge and encourage diverse, impactful scholarly contributions.
