Introduction

I am Prof. (Dr.) Ananya Das, currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at NEIGRIHMS, Shillong. With over 17 years of experience in clinical practice, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, I am deeply committed to advancing women’s health and medical education in India.

My academic journey is defined by a passion for continuous learning and research. I hold Fellowships from the Indian College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (FICOG), the Indian Academy of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (FIAOG), and in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS). I am currently serving as an investigator for major ICMR-funded multicentric studies, including the UNNATI child growth initiative and the NPAC study on pregnancy and cardiac disease. To date, I have contributed over 80 publications to indexed national and international journals.

I have been humbled to receive recognition from my peers, most notably being felicitated as a 'Young Legend of Gynecology' by the President of FOGSI at WISDOM 2024 for my contributions to women's health. Other recent honors include the IMA Jagdishwari Mishra Oration Award (2025) and the FOGSI Champions Award (2024) for my work with the Endocrinology Committe

Beyond clinical duties, I am a strong advocate for quality and leadership in healthcare. I recently completed the Executive Program on Healthcare Management at IIM Shillong and hold a certification in Healthcare Risk Management (CHRM). As an active member of FOGSI, the Institute Scientific Advisory Committee, and the Medical Education Unit, I strive to bridge the gap between clinical excellence, research, and administrative leadership to improve patient outcomes.
