Introduction


Dr. Mohd Azam Haseen did his graduation (MBBS) and  masters in general surgery (MS surgery) from Jawaharlal Nehru medical college,Aligarh Muslim University ,Aligarh .He did his superspeciality training in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery from vardhaman Mahavir medical college and safdarjung hospital , New Delhi. He then worked as consultant Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon at Max saket DDF ,New Delhi.  Due to keen interest in teaching and research he joined Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh in  june 2012 and established department of cardiothoracic surgery .His Fields of interest are beating heart coronary artery bypass surgery(OPCAB),minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgery and valve repairs .  He has published >48 papers in reputed journals like Heart lung circulation, Annals of pediatric cardiology,International journal of surgery ,Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia,Indian journal of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery,Indian Journal of chest diseases and Allied sciences among others. Has been excellent orator and has won several awards best paper awards  at national and international forum. He is a reviewer of several national and international journals and member of many prestigious societies.  Currently he is aProfessor and chairperson Department of Cardiothoracic surgery. He is the chief surgeon of a busy cardiothoracic unit doing around 1000  cases a year. JNMC is the only government centre in entire western Uttar Pradesh doing wide range of adult ,complex pediatric and minimally invasive cardiac surgeries in addition to vascular and thoracic surgeries.
