I am Dr. Arnab Roy Chowdhury, a highly accomplished Senior Scientist at the ICAR-Indian Institute of Natural Resins and Gums (ICAR-IINRG) in Ranchi, with a robust specialization in Agricultural Chemicals and over a decade of dedicated research experience. My academic foundation is strong, culminating in a Ph.D. from the prestigious ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, in 2012, where my thesis focused on the 'Development of Coloured Polymeric Coats for Seed Quality Enhancement of Soybean.' This specialized background in high-level agricultural chemistry, coupled with consistent academic excellence across my B.Sc. Ag (Hons) and M.Sc. degrees, has equipped me with the theoretical and practical knowledge essential for advanced research and product development.
My professional journey at ICAR-IINRG began in April 2011, and I have since progressed to the role of Senior Scientist, a testament to my commitment and significant contributions to the Processing and Product Development Division. Over the years, I have successfully served as Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI on multiple crucial projects, including the "Study on natural gum based dietary fibre as encapsulant for delivery of functional food" and projects involving the synthesis of nanoformulations using natural gums for wound healing and bactericidal applications. My work is not just theoretical; it translates into tangible innovation, evidenced by my contribution to five granted patents and one application, covering slow-release nano formulations and natural gum-based hydrogels.
The quality and impact of my research are reflected in my substantial publication record, which includes 16 papers in SCI journals, along with numerous book chapters and technical articles. Furthermore, I have received significant recognition from the scientific community, including the Young Scientist Award in the field of Agricultural Chemicals in 2018 and the Distinguished Worker Award from ICAR-IINRG in 2019. I am passionate about leveraging the potential of natural resins and gums through chemical modification and nanotechnology to create value-added products for agricultural, industrial, and health applications.
