Introduction


Dr. Amitava Khan is a dedicated academician and researcher specializing in physiology, currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Stage-2) in the Department of Physiology at Sonarpur Mahavidyalaya. With a strong educational foundation, he holds a Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Calcutta, awarded in 2015 for his research on the Molecular Mechanisms of Radiation Protection by Gossypetin. He also completed his Master’s in Human Physiology with a specialization in Environmental Physiology from the University of Calcutta in 2008 and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physiology in 2006. Dr. Khan has accumulated over 15 years of teaching experience, spanning undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His journey includes teaching roles at prestigious institutions like Vidyasagar College, Hari Mohan Ghose College, and the University of Calcutta, where he has also contributed as an examiner and paper setter. Currently, he teaches Sports Biochemistry as a Guest Faculty at the University of Calcutta. An active researcher, Dr. Khan has authored 17 publications, contributing significantly to his field. His expertise extends to presenting papers and posters at numerous national and international conferences, where his work on radiation protection by phytochemicals has gained recognition. He has also been the recipient of the prestigious Dr. J.N. Mukherjee Memorial Award in 2006. Dr. Khan’s academic journey is enriched by his participation in workshops and training sessions on cutting-edge topics like electron microscopy, flow cytometry, and cardiovascular research tools. His passion for research and teaching, combined with his commitment to scientific exploration, underscores his significant contributions to the field of physiology.
