Dr. Syed Ahmar Ali Hashmi is a seasoned forensic science professional currently lecturing at the Faculty of Applied Science, UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur, since May 2024. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Forensic Science (Hons) from Amity University, an MBA from Sikkim Manipal University, and a Ph.D. in Forensic Science from Galgotia’s University. Dr. Hashmi's career spans over 13 years, including a significant tenure at the Forensic Science Laboratory, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, where he served from March 2014 to April 2024. As a Senior Scientific Officer(Documents/CSMD), he reported over 2300 cases, covering questioned documents, crime scene investigation, frauds, anti-corruption, and money laundering. He played a pivotal role in high-profile investigations, such as the IPL match-fixing scandal, CGL Scam, Terrorism Cases and multi-crore bank frauds. Prior to this, Dr. Hashmi worked at IFO Forensic Standard & Research Pvt. Ltd. from June 2010 to February 2014, examining more than 500 cases. His expertise includes handwriting and signature analysis, security document examination, and comprehensive crime scene investigation.Dr. Hashmi is also renowned for his contributions to forensic education and training, having conducted numerous workshops and seminars for law enforcement and judicial officers. His research, particularly on the forensic analysis of forged Urdu handwriting and signatures, has been published in reputable journals. His Ph.D. thesis focused on identifying forged Urdu handwriting across different regions of India, providing valuable insights into the unique characteristics of Urdu script. in recognition of his humanitarian values and professional excellence, Dr. Hashmi was awarded the Shri Baljit Shastri Award from Amity University in 2010. His commitment to advancing forensic science through education, research, and practical application continues to make a significant impact in the field.
