Cinema in India has developed to a large extent and movies are its significant tool. Movies not only provide entertainment to the large audiences but also play some additional roles. The message provided by this medium is more impactful than any other medium because of its reach and easy accessibility. The content provided by the Indian films plays an important role in shaping up its audience. After, reviewing some of the movies, the researcher found a consistent theme of violence in almost all the films and found it important to share it with larger audience. Indian film industry produces more than 800 films annually and almost story line of all the movies is weaved around love, revenge, mafia wars and all this is supported by heavy dose of violence. Critics say that the Indian cinema nowadays is churning out films with persistent theme of violence because of the transplantation of the western ideas resulting in the portrayal of extreme vulgarity on big screen. Film makers follow the steps of Hollywood where most of the movies are much more violent than the bollywood. Movies released in the last few years have seen a continuous increase in the portrayal of violence both in content and subject wise.

Women empowerment has been one of the fascinating subjects attracted the attention of Govt. and non- overnment agencies, social scientists, social activist, academicians and researchers across the global and more so in developing countries like India. In order to mitigate the sufferings of Indian women, many schemes/ programmes have been conceived and implemented by the Govt. from time to time. Self help group scheme is one of the such schemes primarily aims at development of self and collective efficacy and vis-à-vis holistic development of the society. The present paper is an empirical attempt focusing on women empowerment through self-help groups in drought –prone Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh. The findings of the study establish the SHGs have made a positive impact on women empowerment especially in the spheres of social status, economic empowerment and decision-making on various aspects of family matters.

Development is a multi-dimensional phenomenon. It depends on the level of education, level of health services, degree of modernization, status of women, level of nutrition, quality of housing, distribution of goods and services, access to communication etc. Socio-economic development is the need of each and every country especially developing nations like India[1] (Abhiman Das, 1999). But in India the progress of socio-economic development among major states like West Bengal is not uniform. The state has received a lot of critique for being too bureaucratic and thus too ineffective to be able to solve all public needs. This has resulted in an increased attention to the Non Government Organization. However, the increased attention has been followed by a greater pressure on the organizations to fill the shortcomings of private and public sector and they now have to face the demands on being able to show what they accomplish [2] (Jenny Larsson and Joan Kinnunen, 2007). In this backdrop, the present study has been undertaken to measure the financial performance of NGOs in West Bengal. For the said purpose, various accounting tools like ratio analysis and statistical techniques like descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, multiple regression and hypothesis testing have been used.

Well groomed employees contribute to the efficiency, exploitation, increased productivity, strong market reputation and goodwill of an organization. Therefore, enterprises need to realize and strategically invest in the human appliance for a defendable growth in the present uncertain environment. Present study is an endeavour to look into the functioning of training delivery and proficiency as perceived by senior level employees in public sector as well as private sector banks. An attempt has been made to focus on the various objectives of bank training, the methods and sources used in banks for identifying to enhancement, the aspects which are emphasized more by banks while imparting training to their employees, and the benefits of bank training to employees especially in execution and exchange. Additionally, the level of satisfaction of bank officials over the training and development programmes should also premeditated.

A management information system (MIS) provides information that is needed to manage organizations efficiently and effectively [1]. Management information systems involve three primary resources: people, technology, and information or decision making. Management information systems are distinct from other information systems in that they are used to analyze operational activities in the organization [2]. Academically, the term is commonly used to refer to the group of information management methods tied to the automation or support of human decisionmaking, e.g. decision support systems, expert systems, and executive information systems [2]. Thus, in this paper I would like to mention MIS not only indicates how things are going, but also why and where performance is failing to meet the plan. These reports include near-real-time performance of cost centers and projects with detail sufficient for individual accountability.

Disasters are very bad accidents, causing great damage to properties and human lives along with the live stocks. Despite man’s pride of having tamed the unpredictable forces of nature to his advantage, it is the same helpless man who proves a pigmy before the pounding power of nature. Disasters are caused mainly by the nature’s powerful and destructive forces but some are also caused by man’s callous attitude, misbehavior and unscientific exploration of natural resources. The common disasters areearthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, cyclones, drought etc. Disaster Management or Emergency Management is the discipline of dealing with and avoiding risks. It is a discipline that involves preparing for disaster before it occurs. Effective ‘disaster management’ relies on thorough integration of emergency plans at all levels of Governmental and Non-Governmental involvement. Information Management is not a product, but a strategy or approach. It is observed that advancement in Information Technology in form of Internet, GIS, Remote Sensing, and Satellite Communication etc. helps a great deal in planning and implementation of hazard reduction measures.
