Context: Emergency drugs are chemical drugs used in life-threatening conditions to control symptoms and save lives. As a front line workers, nurses have prime responsibility to develop adequate knowledge about emergency drugs. Aim: The aim of the study is to assess the level of knowledge regarding emergency drugs among staff nurses before and after teaching. Setting and Design: Guru Nanak dev hospital Amritsar, Punjab and Quasi experimental Research design with non-randomized Control group design. Methods and Material: The sample of 60 staff nurses in that 30 experimental group and 30 control group were selected by purposive sampling technique. The tools were demographic variables and structured knowledge Questionnaire regarding emergency drugs. Statistical analysis used: The collected data were tabulated, analyzed and interpreted by using descriptive and inferential method. Results: The results showed that in control group during pretest majority 19(63.3%) had poor knowledge and 11(36.7%) had average knowledge where as in experimental group maximum 18(60%) had poor knowledge and 12(40%) had average knowledge. In experimental group during posttest majority 23(76.7%) had good knowledge and 7(23.3%) had average knowledge where as in control group majority 17(5.7%) had poor knowledge, 13(73.3%) had average knowledge and no one have good knowledge. Conclusion: Findings showed that structured teaching program was effective in improving the knowledge regarding emergency drugs among staff nurses in Experimental group as compared to control group.

Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) is a significant respiratory pathogen responsible for a range of illnesses, from mild cold-like symptoms to severe lower respiratory tract infections, particularly in vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals. This review explores the clinical resentation, epidemiology, and transmission of HMPV, highlighting its seasonal nature and the challenges in controlling its spread. It also emphasizes the crucial role of nurses in both hospital and community settings. In hospitals, nurses are vital in early detection, infection control, supportive care, and patient education. In the community, they contribute to health promotion, early identification of symptoms, and prevention strategies. By providing comprehensive care, managing complications, and educating at-risk populations, nurses play an essential role in reducing the impact of HMPV and improving patient outcomes. This article underscores the importance of nursing interventions in managing HMPV infections and preventing their transmission.

A major global problem is antimicrobial resistance (AMR), particularly in pediatrics because of the immature immune systems. Multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs) are a result of the overutilization and abuse of antibiotics as well as a dearth of data specifically about children, leading to severe and prolonged illness, longer hospitalization times, and higher mortality rates. The root causes include Improper use of antibiotics, lack of pediatricspecific data, and specific contraindications for certain antibiotics. Genetic and evolutionary factors also contribute to antibiotic resistance, with mutations allowing resistant strains to evolve and survive. Resolving these problems is essential to halting the rise of germs resistant to antibiotics and enhancing public health. Overcoming AMR in pediatrics involves optimizing antibiotic use, promoting antimicrobial stewardship programs, implementing preventive measures like vaccination, and integrating infection prevention and control practices. Governments and international organizations must lead to fight against antibiotic resistance by developing policies that encourage appropriate antibiotic use, support public health initiatives, fund research and development of new antibiotics, and implement stringent regulatory measures.

Oxygen administration is a crucial intervention in managing conditions associated with hypoxemia, such as COPD, pneumonia, and heart failure. It improves oxygen saturation, supports organ function, and enhances overall quality of life by alleviating symptoms like shortness of breath and fatigue. Nurses play a pivotal role in the safe and effective delivery of oxygen therapy, selecting appropriate methods, adjusting flow rates, and ensuring continuous patient monitoring. Nurses’ expertise is integral to adjusting oxygen therapy, mitigating risks, and improving patient well-being.
