 HIV is not a disease in itself, it is a condition, which if not managed properly with a healthy lifestyle and habits, results into AIDS- a condition, where an individual’s immune system has been lost and the person becomes vulnerable to many illnesses. The setting for the study was SV degree college Thatithopu, Tirupati. A Non-probability convenient sampling technique was adopted to select 100 adolescents. A structured questionnaire and checklist was used to assess the knowledge and attitude on HIV/AIDS among adolescents.The collected data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results shown that 27% of adolescents had inadequate knowledge, 54% had moderate knowledge and 19% had adequate knowledge, and regarding attitude on HIV/AIDS 25% of adolescents had unfavorable attitude, 48% had moderately favorable attitude and 27% had favorable attitude and there is a significant association between level of knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS with mother’s educational status, mother’s occupation, father’s educational status, father’s occupation, place of residence, source of information  at P <0.01 level.

 Introduction: Type A Personality Behavior people will show so much perfection and dedication towords their respected work which they are supposed to do. However they are very competitive and self-critical. They strive toward goals without feeling a sense of joy in their efforts or accomplishments. Occupational stress now a days a bottle neck problem in the all the professions irrespective of their positions. Aim: The aim of the present study is to assess the type A behavior and occupational pressure on the SVUDDE Psychology Final Year distance education Students. Methodology: A cross-sectional research design was employed by using non-probability convenient sample technique. Data was collected by using a general behavior scale and occupational pressure scale by C.Looper. Results: A total number of 50 samples was taken for study, t-test shows that there is a statistical significance between occupation and occupational pressure i.e. P<0.01 Level. Moreover there was a Positive correlation between Behavior and Occupational Pressure i.e. 0.31 and correlation was significant at the p<0.05 level. It is concluded that in type A behavior people shows occupational pressure. Recommendation: Need to conduct different types of stress management programs, and personality development classes in occupational areas, there is a need to examine their findings by including more samples in the study, in order to make the results generalized.

 The purpose of the study is to assess the effectiveness of communication board on the communication pattern and level of satisfaction among the patients on mechanical ventilator in IMS & SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Critically ill patients often have their usual means of communication interrupted or limited, either mechanically by endotracheal intubation or by the effect of drugs, at a time when the need for the information and expression of anxieties is great. Deficiency in communication ranks as one of the most negative experiences in the studies of perception of intubated patients. A retrospective study was conducted on stressful experiences of patients who received mechanical ventilation in an ICU; a majority of subjects (78.1%) remembered having trouble speaking during ventilator treatment. Most of those subjects (82.7%) rated speaking difficulties as moderately to extremely bothersome. Incidentsof Panic were associated with not being able to talk because of endotracheal intubation. The approach/design of the study was Evaluatory approach/ Pre-Experimental one group pre-test post-test research design, which was carried out among 60 patients; those are on mechanical ventilator in IMS & SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, selected by Non-Probability purposive sampling technique. An exclusive review of literature helped in preparation of data collection tools to assess the communication pattern and to assess the level of satisfaction among the patients those are on mechanical ventilator. Structured Questionnaires were administered to collect demographic data & data on communication pattern and level of satisfaction. The techniques used for data collection are interview & self structured rating scale. The analysis of the obtained data was based on the objective of the study. Descriptive & inferential statistics was used for data analysis & data interpretation. Results of the study revealed that mean post test score of communication pattern is 134.4, which is higher than mean pre test score of communication pattern 78.85. The standard deviation of post test 6.689143 is less than standard deviation of pre test 7.161159 which indicates that the group was more homogenous in post test. It inferred that there is a marked improvement in communication pattern in post test than pre test. Mean post test score of satisfaction level is 36.9, which is higher than mean pre test score of satisfaction level 31.4. The standard deviation of post test 2.51 is less than standard deviation of pre test 2.55 which indicates that the group is more homogenous in post test. It inferred that there is a marked improvement in satisfaction level in post test than pre test. There is significant positive relationship between communication pattern and level of satisfaction of the patients with mechanical ventilator. The calculated r value is 0.25 (before using communication board) & 0.29 (after using communication board) indicate high significant relationship between communication pattern and level of satisfaction of the patients with mechanical ventilator. It was concluded that, there was a significant improvement in communication pattern and level of satisfaction of the patients with mechanical ventilator and communication board is found to be useful for enhancing communication pattern and level of satisfaction of the patients with mechanical ventilator. The findings conclude that the communication board developed by the researcher was found to be helpful in enhancing communication pattern and level of satisfaction of the patients with mechanical ventilator.

 Ageing is a natural and an inevitable development phenomenon bringing along a number of changes in physical, psychological, hormonal and the social conditions. Health problems tend to increase with an advancing age and very often the problems appropriate due to neglect, poor socioeconomic status etc. A descriptive approach was chosen and 100 senior citizens were participated. The data was collected by structure questionnaire with an interview technique. The result revealed that out of 100 senior citizens 33(33%) were known hypertensive’s, 13(13%) were hypertensive’s but unaware the condition and 11(11%) had systolic hypertension. An overwhelming percentage (64%) of senior citizens had below average knowledge followed by 32%, 4% average knowledge and above average knowledge. Among known hypertensive’s 36% were maintained blood pressure under control, and the rest 64%were had uncontrolled blood pressure. Finally the study was shown that the significant association between the knowledge on hypertension and selected demographic variables like gender, occupation, and education (p<0.01). It is important to create a caring society with an emphasis to improve awareness on hypertension management and prevention of complication. Community based supportive services for elderly should be developed in partnership with public, private and family member of senior citizens.
